Hi everyone,
I'm coming here because I am in need of some assistance so I'll just cut straight to it:
I'm conected to the internet using a wifi hotspot, I have a normal internet connection except that when I open up SA-MP the server list shows no servers online.. all the favorites I have are the same as they show they are offline..
Since I dont want to waste anyone's time I will start by saying the thing I've checked and Im certain are not a problem..
I checked the SA-MP version and it matches.. Downloaded and installed a new one just to be sure
I've reinstalled GTA:SA.. Probably has absolutely nothing to do with the problem but I just wanted to cross that out
I've re-added the server on my favorites just incase I had the wrong IP and it still shows the server is offline..
Update:
I re-checked the server list and I can find one server.. It has a 4500 port.. Maybe the internet I'm using blocks certain ports?
Thank you in advance,
Razor

It seems there is an issue with ports. Visit http://portforward.com/ for more information, I am sure you will be able to find your router.
Second, if none of the first worked, make sure SA-MP.exe + GTASA.exe are allowed through Windows Firewall.

@TheRock I have permission to use the internet but I don't have access to the router.. Is there any alternative or does that mean I'm kind of stuck?

Is the router lent to you by your ISP? In that case, yeah, I'm in the same situation and can barely play Halo Multiplayer because I can't forward my ports.
But you could try different fixes, try to disable firewall, launch SAMP with admin privileges, try to use some other machine to see if it's your computers fault or the routers.

It's gonna be in the firewall, try disabling it and seeing what happens if you view the server list. If you can see the servers, then re-enable it and add exceptions for SA:MP.

Firewall or anti-virus protection for sure. Try it. Hopefully you get your things cleared, nice to see you. :)

Just disable any and all security systems (firewall, antiviruses) you have. If that doesn't help then ggwp contact your provider and complain to them that you need ports open.

I do not own the WiFi but I do have permission to use it.. Anyways I've fixed my issue another way.. I just use USB tethering from my phone to play.
Thanks everyone for the support and help,
Razor
