It's pretty good for the price considering the CPU alone is worth a bit more, but you should probably look for a better GPU if you wish to play demanding games.
How do I find out what MOBO I have?Open it and check, the motherboard model should be engraved on the circuit.
Any recommendations?Sapphire Radeon R7 250X, check it out.

asus lga1155 - is it good sers
LGA 1155 is a socket of CPU but ASUS is solid Motherboard :) I recommend with your budget to look for a GTX 980 if your willing to go up that €100 to get way more performance :) Or just snatch 2 R9 290's then Crossfire them :3 Cheers
Nothing's being touched until September.. I have 4 holidays so I'm pretty much broke. I only gave £20 deposit for the PC haha. I'll get into all that GPU shit later I suppose.
PC is stuck at 99% in downloading Win10 ffs.. its been like this for a solid hour.
GTX 980kek
kek
Since you're waiting for September, don't bother with anything until all the new GPUs drop, you'll have a better choice, most of the new GPUs are providing extreme power with a quite nice price tag. And definitely don't touch the 980.
If he will wait until September then yeah wait for a 1070 but I think that might bottleneck. It will still be generally cheaper and better than a GTX 980, so he shouldn't get one.
Get 16GB Ram memory =)

It will be 200 pounds to get a 980 it will be 350 pounds to get a 1070 after Tax (There aroud)GPU prices never drop even after a successor is released, and a 980 wont go from 400 to 200 in a few months.

Get the GTX 960 4GB (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-1127MHz-Dl-Dvi-I-Dl-Dvi-D-Graphics/dp/B00ULQDPDC/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1465681293&sr=8-9&keywords=gtx+960+4gb), I have it and it works fucking great, people bash it all the time because the GTX 970 is more powerful (no shit) but I've had this 960 for a few months now, no problems and runs most games at 60+ FPS on max settings, 100 on GTA SA.
Where do you buy a 980 for £200?
£190 for a damn PC component? Any cheaper than that bro?Sure! (https://www.amazon.com/PNY-QUADRO-M6000-GDDR5-VCQM6000-24GB-PB/dp/B01DPPPCM2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1465689605&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=quadro+m6000&psc=1)

Agreed, 960 is fabulous for 1080p gaming or below. If you're venturing into 4K then the 970 is worth considering, but otherwise 960 is perfect.Just make sure it's the 4GB one because the 2GB is shite. ;)
£190 for a damn PC component? Any cheaper than that bro?Probably some AMD cards that are cheaper, not sure about their performance though.
Damn you got a nice PC!
Right guys, when I seem to plug in my HDMI cable it says 'Not supported' I am currently connected via DVI but I need sound aswell. How do I fix this 'Not supported' issue?

The TV might not support 60Hz for example, try going down on it also
Forgot to point out.. the VGA doesn't work either. I currently connect the PC to my TV via the DVI from the GPU.Are you connecting the HDMI to the GPU or MOBO?
USB's and Audio port does work at the back though..
Are you connecting the HDMI to the GPU or MOBO?
Good thinking Celso!
Whilst the graphics card is plugged in I would not expect the video outputs (HDMI, VGA etc) on the motherboard to work. I'd only expect the ports on the video card to work.
You *may* already have audio going along the DVI cable.
Try right clicking your volume icon down the bottom right, click "Playback devices," right click another playback device onscreen, it might reference HDMI, Digital, TV or something like that, and "Set as Default"
Ah, DVI to VGA will not be carrying audio at all as VGA only carries video.
Do you not have a 3.5mm audio jack input to your television?
Try to connect the HDMI Cable, and check if your playback device is selected.
Regarding the MOBO thing.. could find some cases were the drivers were not up to date and the sound would malfunction although it's rare..
As soon as I remove the VGA/DVI cable.. a floating 'Not supported!' around the TV screen. I legit can't do anything until I put in the VGA/DVI cable. Recommend any program I can use to identify drivers to update? And when you plug the HDMI to the TV you selected the HDMI option on the source menu?
VGA + audio cable is fine but it's for my own OCDness to try and get the HDMI to work. Why settle for 2 wires when you have the option for 1.
It's possible, but needs a small tweak.
What CPU/Mobo you got? You need to enable Multi-Monitor (or something like that) in BIOS in order to use integrated GPU and dedicated simultaneously.

From what I'm seeing, you just need one of these (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000TYL27M) to use your HDMI cable with audio. Any brand will do. Just as long as it is mini-HDMI male to HDMI female. Don't plug your HDMI into the motherboard as it will be running off of an integrated graphics chip (shit). Just plug it into the adapter that's going into the GTS 450.
DVI is good but you'll have to run an analog audio cable to your TV, which is fine but causes more cable clutter. VGA looks like shit compared to HDMI or DVI so don't use that.
2 broken flaps might have upset the "balance" of the fan, making it cause more noise than usual, or it could just be so old that the bearing doesn't have proper fluid in it anymore, making it more noisy.
I know its GPU 100% cos I stopped the fan and the rest of the PC was quiet. Maybe worth mentioning I was cleaning it when I first got it and broke 2 flaps on the fan but I doubt that will be a big difference.Well if you broke 2 of the fins on the fan I imagine it would be spinning unbalanced, making alot of noise...
Well if you broke 2 of the fins on the fan I imagine it would be spinning unbalanced, making alot of noise...
Edit: Which blades are broken? 2 next to eachother or 2 opposite? If it's next to eachother then it'd definitely be unbalanced depending on how many blades the fan originally had.
rofl dude if the flaps are broken that thing is going to spin unbalanced like crazy, like Mikal and Fuzzy pointed out. If one flap broken this already happens, but with 2 it just intensifies the whole thing. It didn't make noise before because the unbalance didn't take its toll yet. Now it probably fucked up the bearings inside the fan due to spinning like that.
You don't have to buy a new GPU either, I've replaced two of these fans for the same reason in the past which is really easy to do because fans like that are easy to get a hold of on eBay or where ever
Now it probably fucked up the bearings inside the fan due to spinning like that.
apparently my GPU requires a lot of power (650)
If your GPU was really a GTS 450 then I'm betting your CPU is also some old crappy thing, you should just build new from scratch if money isn't an issue.
Mayber overheated,,,,,open your window so it cool down little bit haha or put ice on it :D
Money isn't an issue, it's just principle I don't want to get robbed by paying a fortune for a damn card but whatever.Just buy a proper card like that GTX960, it's a one time investment for like 2-3 years, that GT740 would fucking struggle 24/7
GT 740 anyone?

Maybe worth mentioning I was cleaning it when I first got it and broke 2 flaps on the fan but I doubt that will be a big difference.Well there's the problem, you broke the fan, if a blade is broken off then of course there's going to be a problem, the fan is likely to be spinning too fast due to decreased air resistance and it's going to be off balance.
Holy shit, I can't keep up with the replies
I paid £200 from a friend who built this PC 2 years ago but never used it as he went to uni outside home. I kindly asked his parents if I can have it and wired the money to him.
CPU: Intel i5 2500
PSU: Corsair CX500
RAM: 8GB Vengeance
GPU: Nvidia GTS 450
HDD: Seagate 1TB
For £200 surely that's a bargain.
@Luke If I spent my money on PC parts, I wouldn't have 4 consecutive holiday coming up now would I? (1 more week till amsterdaaaaaaaaam :D)
As long as the 960 gives me the ability to play games at a minimum of 'medium' settings and 720p/60 FPS it's perfect.
http://www.box.co.uk/Zotac_NVIDIA_GeForce_GTX_960_4GB_Graphi_1757399.html - This one?
Its decent and I actually think the GTX 960 will bottleneck in 720p mate.... Got a 1080p monitor? And get a Gigabyte or Evga card.

Zotac is fine, Gigabyte is fine. Zotac looks to be slightly cheaper and with a slightly higher clock speed so personally I'd go for the Zotac model.
I'm using a 32inch TV which I think must have 1080p.

Fuck it I'm going for the TITAN X because fuck it whats £1000 to me? :gand:
If you buy a Titan X your retarded. Get a 1070 or 1080 and easily outperform + You will bottleneck on anything higher than GTX 970 so i suggest upgrading CPU if your serious
With CSGO its not about how good it looks, dude I put that shit on low
I just don't trust the brand after I ordered a 660ti back in the day and the fan stopped working and they wouldn't take it in on warranty. but for a 960 get the windforce 3x if possible or Evga
http://www.box.co.uk/Gigabyte_NVIDIA_GeForce_GTX_960_4GB_Gra_1747758.html
you won't regret it with this cooler
also I think even @Mikal has the 3x Windforce cooler so if you need a review ask him.
Well it would do, the fan is slowing down.
No, slight touch would result in the noise decreasing.. you were not in TS to witness the noise it actually makes. They thought I was at Heathrow
@MrTrane @Luke
When I push down the fan, it makes less noise by a significant margin. Hmmm
Yeah, I'll get a new GPU but will still keep this.. I will always cherish my first beastly GPU I've had in the 20 odd years I've lived on this earth :DOperating System
