Hi guys,
If we're expecting a few older players ingame, and they've already got an account in RS5 but haven't been online for years... how are the "legacy" account requests going to be dealt with? Will there be somebody sitting on the forum constantly monitoring this, or can they just create new accounts?
Just a thought!

There's a sticky topic in SA:MP General called Account Problems. This is where those issues have been resolved so far.
-
I understand your point Julio, it will be discussed in HQ, ill keep this topic updated about that.

You are correct.
This one (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=99703.0) to be exact.

Of course. Just brought it up as I suspect a response time of multiple hours isn't going to cut it ;)

Let them make a post in "account trouble" and we will take care of it once we have the access we need.
-
There's no need for any "special" access to resolve legacy account problems. It can even be resolved from ingame with manager+ rights.

Cheers mate, hope you're well :)
That house is long lost with RS4... and since DellStorm stole it.. :(

Sup fellas, just logged in after resetting my password (must of been gone a long time to forget that one, lol). What's a legacy account?
-
Long time no see mate, good to see you here!
Not really any idea there... if a player hasn't been online for a long time then it happens, no idea whether it's due to some sort of database redesign and it has to be manually migrated, or simply they keep inactive users off the main database tables...
-
Oh yeah, if you're not online from about six months to a year your account is inactive and requires re-activation before being able to be accessed again, I remember a system like this from RS4. Or I might be wrong, memory is fuzzy.

Nah, RS4 was different because player info was saved in files. Inactive players had their files moved to inactive folder to decrease disk load and keep performance good.
Nowadays they use database to store the data, which is way faster and no longer needs such system to keep performance high.
Legacy Account issue is due to a security upgrade that was carried out. All player accounts were needed to be updated to it - during first weeks or months the upgrade from slightly older form of security (but still secure) to a newer one was done automatically when player logged in. However later on, it was switched to manual, that is Managers and above doing it when needed.

Ah, I think I know the upgrade you're on about.
