The world is yours, chico! During this hot and steamy summer, your lovely developers have worked hard on some updates for you! This topic will cover the changes made.

The main changes to the summer update are trucking, numerous bug fixes and drugs. Trucking has been re-enabled and will allow players to earn money by driving around in their trucks, delivering orders to truck stops. The bug fixes have been a priority for the developers and we hope it improves the stability of the server and boosts the player experience. Last but not least, drugs has been revamped! You no longer sell to an invisible market but to virtual cartels. The cartels will offer you a price based on the supply and demand of the global market. Another crime family unloading a lot of drugs? That will cause the price to fall sharply. That means the cartel will first need to sell off their supply before they will buy more or at a higher price. Another addition to drugs is the combine. Due to its equipment it can't yet harvest weed efficiently. It is such a badly built machine that it destroys the weed when driving over it, so we do not recommend using it. Unless you are a cop, or need to get rid of some criminal competition...  :cowboy:

Trucking
-> (Temporary) trucking script added (fully rewritten and based on @xcasio 's script) with a total of 373 orders.

Wearables/items
-> /wear works up to 5 objects again.
-> Wear items are no longer in the way when zooming in with weapons (such as a sniper rifle).
-> /wear will clearly show which bones got wearable items.
-> Added a few more wearable items.

Farming
-> Fertilized plots will have their own text.
-> Shortened alias commands added for farming (/collecteggs, collectwool, /collectmilk).
-> Blueberry farm object improvements.

Vehicles
-> Sweeper siren added (/siren).
-> /speedo will now display additional aircraft instruments such as speed in knots, altitute and bearing.
-> Added a gas station in Blueberry.
-> Toll timer for vehicles with a trailer attached increased to 6 seconds instead of 3 seconds.
-> Fixed the bug that removed the mapicon of /heydude automaticly.
-> Added driver duty, hooker duty and trucking depots into the /gps.

Drugs
-> You can now destroy weed plants with a Combine Harvester.
-> Fixed a bug where you could plant and harvest weed after giving up or while being cuffed.
-> Completely reworked drug market which is now based on cartels.
-> /selltomarket [amount] [drug] is now /selltomarket [drug].
-> Prices are now calculated based on supply and demand and will decrease when too much is sold in a short time. This restores automatically over time.

Various other changes
-> Fixed a bug where a TFA token starting with a zero (0) would not work.
-> Daytime set for interiors.
-> Cops can't /cuff you anymore after getting shot by a taser.
-> Fixed a bug regarding spawning at closest hospital.
-> Added /recipes command to see available crafting recipes.
-> Staff members that are removed whilst on admin duty will be removed from admin duty automaticly.
-> Re-enabled the bank NPC's that were disabled during RS5.2 development.

Everything seems good except for the fact that suspects cant be cuffed anymore after they are tased. This is actually quite bad as quite a lot of suspects does not seem to give a shit if they were tased or not and would continue running away regardless. So in that sense, we're back at square 1 where we had to shoot suspects when they ran. Now unless there is any other way to enforce suspects being roleplayly detained after tasing so they wouldn't run away for no reason, then I'd be all up for that instead.

aye /wear good stuff only request (if not already there) is that you can set the bone for which clothing item you want to be so like for example a hat can be put on your arm so if you arm moves the hat moves with it. some creative stuff could be made!!  ;)

Are the overall, average prices for drugs unchanged? As in, is it still heroin -> weed -> meth in order of cheapest to most expensive, or does the supply and demand script fluctuate it to the point where some previously cheap drugs could be more expensive than others?

There is a rule that forbids any player from ignoring /me's and /em's. So... figure it yourself.

That's because most of the commands were removed. A small bug in /selltomarket has been identified and fixed. Non-official groups can now also sell to the market (fix will be uploaded to main server ASAP).

The fixed version of RS5Drug was uploaded and applied on the main server. The fix was tested successfully and is now live for everyone.

Members of every criminal family with at least rankpower 70 will be able to sell to the drug market.

Does the price of the drug drop based on a single transaction, ie:

I walk in with 100g meth, price at $50/g, sell it all for $5000, and after the transaction it drops to $40/g

OR

I walk in with 100g meth, price at $50/g, the system notes each g as an individual sale, and as a result, as I'm selling large quantities, every time I see 1g, the price drops, thus, you aren't paid $50/g for the total of 100g?


That's the only reason I can think of why Dennis would have only got 16k, not 31.5k.

After using this system the past five days, I am sure many will agree that the prices are just fine, but the cartel storage capabilities are not. As it is right now, cartel prices per gram increase faster than the amount of drugs one can actually sell to them, and thus often you see cartels that have high demand for a drug (80/g) but have 0 storage. 5kg for the whole server is honestly not enough, and either the storage or the recovery speed need to be increased ASAP, rather drastically. Likewise, sometimes you see cartels have 400g storage left, but the script prevents you from selling less than 500. That is counter productive, as two different scripts are literally contradicting one another - one not letting you sell past 400 while another not letting you sell less than 500.

The way I see it, a solution would be to remove the minimum selling restriction of 500, then increasing max storage from 5kg to 30kg or have it at 5kg but let it recover from 0 to 5000 in the span of say, 30-60 minutes or have it as it is right now, 5kg max and same recovery speed, but make the storage unique per player rather than share it among the whole server. Of course, since I am not a scripter, these are just suggestions that I came up with after using the system a lot for the past few days. While I urge you to take everything I say with a grain of salt, I can assure you that currently, right now, this system does not work the way it should.

Do you have any thoughts on this, Marcel? Perhaps anything you could share from a developers point of view?

From the developers point of view, the following situation is currently true:

When I made the system, I entered the three cartels into the database with their respective properties. These properties include how fast they "sell off" the storage they have and how fast the price returns to its normal level. Even before we released the update, it was clear these values needed tweaking (as you are suggesting now) after the release. This is due to the fact we have to balance it out with the use of the drug script (amount of production, etc.).

It is now clear the system itself is good, but needs to allow for some 'larger' cartels in terms of storage. We will be collecting statistics and tweak the values mentioned above.

Idea:

Create drug markets on ships. These will be the ship at Ocean Docks and the ship in the water north of San Fierro. These drug markets are accessible to notorious criminals (lvl 5+) only. At the moment I'm not sure if notorious criminals receive a drug market price bonus. This will give further benefit to notorious criminals, as at the moment there isn't really too much benefit of getting your notoriety as high as possible.

+The upside to these ship markets are that they can hold massive amounts. I'll leave the numbers to the scripting team as I'm not sure how the new balancing will play out.
-The downside is that after reaching maximum capacity, these ships will sail to say Vice City and will not come back until 2 weeks later.

These ships will only accept a minimum of 5 kilograms per sale. Maybe you can boost this number to 10 kilograms to encourage middlemen who buy by the kilogram and then sell for 5 or 10 kilograms.

 Make it so only criminal faction top ranks can sell, not just people with rank over 70+. Perhaps return some sort of ARUN-like group to whom group leaders apply for BM access.

 It's fine the way it is, but maybe work onto the Cartel system and allow groups to enter the drugmarket. For example the Pavano Crime Family wants to buy 3kg of meth for a cheap price, they access the black market /setoffer meth[or any other drug] [p/g price] and later pick it up once that amount is sold to. Also what happened to the relation system that was mentioned before with the said Cartel? I believe there was something said about having good relations and getting better prices for working strictly with one Cartel.
