After we started getting a more active server again, the server is experiencing extreme lag spikes all over LS. My FPS is dropping like crazy and I keep crashing from time to time as well. For example at Alhambra. People, including myself keep crashing everytime we pass Alhambra.
I think the problem is all the custom mapping. Like additional mapping is fine. Like some fences, tables and gates and such, but completely new buildings, a new parking lot and the whole reform of Pershing Square is really killing the FPS on the server. It should be restored and the bank of LS should be moved elsewhere. Maybe to Rodeo?
-
No ty. I didn't see anyone lag there.
-
Not seeing how the FPS drops would link into the, unless it's fairly high resolution custom textures that are additionally being loaded. Especially if you have a modded game, you're now loading 100+ modded skins instead of 30 or 40.
But yeah, if this is an issue, should be looked into, haven't experienced any problems yet myself though.
-
A lot of people never have that lag, So I suppose they won't be okay with that solution.
-
I did not see a decrease in FPS at all.. must be in your end as I said ingame already. A good PC doesn't guarrantee good performance on SAMP for some reason.
-
Never heard anyone lag except for now.
Edit: @Bas nice signature.

Quite interesting, I'm not lagging at all. Could be your PC or something else, I have played on servers with way more mapped objects and still didn't lag, compared to other servers this is nothing, seriously. I don't lag around LS and I love seeing what people come up with and map.

Yeah same here, and I believe the earlier crashes at Alhambra had something to do with a bugged vehicle since I got warnings about not being able to create a vehicle type

The only lag I've been experiencing was host-related, not FPS lag.
-
I get a terrible FPS drop around the mechanic duty area for some reason...
The server lag has been quite bad recently, which I assume is at least in part due to a raised player-count.

Actually even using a R9 280x and a good old 9800gt and framerate was the same and yet even with a far more powerful CPU and GPU i still had lag drops in specific areas which were different on both Games, one was Mt.Chilliad and 2nd was in Blueberry by the mechanic shop
Its just the way the game is.

For those thinking it is my PC, no. It is not. I am running on Windows 7 64 bit operative system with a 2300$ budget PC 1 year ago. It can run all games on Ultra, no matter when it came out.
-
Then it's your mods, because I've been checking out every location mentioned above of being 'laggy' and it's not, even on a shitty computer with an integrated video card.

I do not have any mods. I have 1 low poly skin for my off duty skin. A medium quality weapon pack and no vehicle mods. I have ran this game vanilla for a very long time, but I tend to keep some mods in order to not make me throw up. It is no significant mods which cause my game to lag or give me FPS drop though. I have used the same gta3.img on for example L*-RP where there are 400-600 players every day and I never experienced this much FPS lag. Sure with my previous PC I had lag in areas like Idlewood Pizza Stack because that was a very populated area, but when I got a new PC, I used the same gta3.img and had no lag whatsoever. It is on Argonath's end as we pracitally have replaced a lot of things in LS with custom mapping. It is killing FPS.

Perhaps it just happens to be that Argonath is using textures that are optimised poorly in your modifications.
I'm running a laptop with a basic i5, GeForce 825M GPU and not having any issues.

all textures such as roads, etc is vanilla.

No lag here. I used to get some frame drops near Willowfield Ammu before but it seems to work fluidly now.
-
As Link said, my FPS drops to a constant 30 FPS at willowfield ammunation and a constant 20 fps in blueberry fields. It's definitely not my PC since its powerful enough for a 10 year old game.
Alsoe, even though I don't have FPS drop, the reworked pershing square building is unnecessary. People with slower connections and high ping can probably relate.
-
Temporary fix for willowfield lag is disabling the "dynamic" shadows by putting LOW on the textures settings. Blueberry is also laggy for me, in some servers i do not have it though..
-
Charlie same happened to me. First it was willowfield only then i started having fps drops in some other zones as well. Go to advanced video setting and set quallity on low, as mark said. Worked for me. Only after doing that, i realised how laggy the game was for me overall and in every zone.
-
No lag for me in any of this locations..
-
I've had lag in Idlewood and Willowfield.I use no mods as of right now.
-
Willowfield is notorious for it, had it in multiple SA:MP servers in the past.
-
No lag for me aswell in anywhere but blueberry. (in all samp servers I visited)
-
No lags.
