I want to see it, to go wild in large-scale roleplay spam.. and still see what needs to be seen




The problem numero uno

The higher the amount of players in roleplay, the higher the spam! Hard to track.. especially for admins [RIP^2]


The idea 1

Ability to cut down public chat with something similar to /cb off. Just now we would go for something like /public off, similar to /cb off


Possible issues

I currently do not see any.. except maybe endangering stability of the server.
Besides that, the only thing that falls to my mind is that you won't see any messages from newcomers [They still have /ask to spam administration, fok yea], but in general.. you can always turn it on when needed
This should cut only public chat messages, and not for example /ad, any admin /pm or /cb message.. just, strictly.. message for which we used only ` text or T text





The problem numero duo

Alright, you have your public chat filtered out.. you also maybe cleared out your cb, but still.. the spam is too damn high, the lines keep popping out faster than new updates for win 10


The idea 2

Add some kind of function that allows us to send "personal messages in local chat" that are visible to all players inside of specific local chat range, but to that player.. are colored differently
Example: /l2 text - Sends player with ID 2 personal message that is colored green, while to others it is displayed as regular local chat


Issue

Why don't you just go along with /l and.. nO!
I want more!
Especially for local chat madness





Additional details/suggestions/whatnot's

This could even maybe be used instead of default /l /w /s.. so that we just stick along with /lID, /sID /wID and delete /l /w /s thing..
..of course, only if this whole thing can't be added along side of the current system?

Personally, I would like that.. but that's just me, I go cuckoo sometimes

I support the first idea. It is really hard to do a roleplay with the spam of the main chat, sometimes it makes you think to give up already.

As for the second idea, it is good, though I don't think it is really needed in a roleplay, since the purpose of the roleplay is to stay tuned with the surrounding, not just with one player. It is a good idea that will help, though it may ruin it sometimes.

lol, I thought we already have that xD

Generally, I think everything could be okay.. as long as we can still see chat from an angry admin nearby us :P

Yes, good ideas but please change also the range of CB, i don't like when people stalk you around because they can see CB messages because the range is almost as /shout
/setpm off won't hurt anybody, so yes plox.

Also yes to make so that you can whisper to somebody without others being able to see it. If you are whispering to someone /w ID (some people use PM which is pretty sad lol) is the best option.

/w id would be fun to me if others would see on chat some notification like..

"Mark is whispering something to Mihail"

..but basically, yeah, you could do that with just /pm and then going for /me whispered to mihail, kinda easier :P

I know its kinda hard as admin to keep on track all real time chat and read them at once, but it will be more difficult to us if we use filtered chat on main chat, and since its administration job, that's the consequences we have to take , we need to read all new players ( in this case players who still don't know how to use local chat/pm properly ) asking some help from admin or maybe spammer / rule-breakers
but then again, it will be useful for players , definitely not for administration
yet its useful for players to get focused on their RPs scene

I really do support the idea, as well because some people can go away from the keyboard from a roleplay and they can be a little tired and not know what happened because of the public chat. Also, it's nice having new colours/colors(They both are correct ;)).
