So i bought a ps3 yesterday and i want to connect it with a pc monitor.
I tried connecting it via a HDMI DVI adapter but it didnt seem to work.
Has anyone got any information if it will work if i connect it via HDI VGA adapter?
If that doesnt work either, is there any solution how to connect it via VGA or DVI?

I used a DVI-HDMI adaptater (The one in the picture down below) for my PS3 to connect it with my 1080p PC monitor, and it works just fine.

Your output settings are set to VGA, And you'll have to reset your PS3's video settings, To do so you have to:
-1 Make sure that you have only 1 type of video cable connected between your PS3 and your TV or monitor, Wich is your HDMI cable connected to your monitor through a HDMI-DVI adaptater.
-2 Make sure your monitor is turned on.
-3 With the PS3 on standby mode (OFF), hold the power button, It will make a first beep as it turns on, after 4-5 seconds you'll hear a second beep, when you hear the second beep let go of the button, the screen would flicker and turn on, the PS3 should change to the basic 480p resolution, And a screen to confirm your video settings would appear, simply confirm it, after you do this, you'll be able to change the settings to the connection and resolution you have from the video settings.
Ta Daaah! There you go! It works!
Note that you'll have to do this everytime you change the type of the video cables ( VGA-HDMI-COMPOSITE)

Tried not using a adapter?
Cant because the monitor doesnt have a HDMI port :(
-
I did try that but the monitor remains o n standby mod and the ps3 menu doesnt show up :/
-
The Video settings confirmation menu appears whenever you do that, But you won't actually see it, Keep trying and make sure the monitor is always ON.
That's something I stumbled with too, When I tried to connect it to the monitor with a DVI port using an adaptater, But it works just fine now.

I will try once i am home and will tell you.

Lets be honest we know you stole it.

Ok.

Try setting different Display Mode on monitor, although I haven't heard of a monitor not having a HDMI in years.

Okay so I tried a few things but it is still not working. When I turn on the PS3 I get a "No Signal" tab on my monitor. I did connect the video output when connected with my TV to 720p. The PS3 takes the commands from the controller cause I turned it off. The monitor goes on sleep mod right after the "No Signal" shows up. The normal blue light in the monitor turns orange.

Ok... Did you try disconnecting and connecting again then switching from DVI etc? I honestly hate adapters but it might be the adapter. try it on your PC and see if you get the same results

Hold the power button whilst turning on your PS3. This should adjust it to your monitors resolution.

I have tried that allot of times. When I turn it on I get the "No Signal" tab, then when I hear the second beep I release and the monitor goes on sleep mod.
