The ESA's Rosetta comet orbiter has found complex, solid organic molecules in dust particles that came of the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, lending credence to the theory that organic compounds, or even life itself came from the stars.

In simple terms, the comet already has the ingredients required to make life. And we already know that those ingredients can combine under the right conditions (That are already available in many places in space) to make life.
This discovery is weak proof that life outside the earth is not only possible but probably does exist, and maybe even the life on earth came from space when some comets carrying such organic molecules crashed into the earth and recombined in just the right way to eventually evolve into the kind of life we know today.
