it's come to my attention that the issuing of ig /groups has been halted

haven't managed to get a comment from hq as to why this decision has been made, but one of the possible explanations i've heard is that there's a new groups script being developed. however, if this is the case, it still wouldn't be a very good reason, since the current script is already being used by the existing groups anyway

i hope we can get this process back on track since there are quality, active groups in dire need of script support, in order to continue their activities, and progress further.

Everyone that requested me for a group has been informed of why they havent been able to get a group.

We are currently discussing new guidelines on when HQ will assign groups as currently there's too many dormant groups, or groups used for purposes which they should not be used for. We feel this is the reason due to the easy way a group can be obtained. I am planning to be done with a new rule set by tomorrow.

well i've had a ticket up several times while there were multiple managers ig for hours and it hadn't been taken (i guess this is an issue of its own), only to ultimately be informed with a vague response by a mod that groups aren't being issued, with no followup to my question as to why

what happened to the ruleset andeey posted a couple weeks ago? i agree, there are too many dormant groups and perhaps also some misused groups, but i disagree that the reason for this are old rules. there's nothing wrong with them, they're perfectly fine. perhaps they just haven't been followed properly, just like what we're seeing with setting of new properties lately

I think they are being misused because of the way they are designed, but having a completely different system would not solve it. Nor will having no system. It's just what it is. It's broken damaged, but it gets the job done.

Isn't it pretty simple? Delete groups which are dormant/have inactive forum topics and get rid of people and groups which are using the group system for purposes it was not intended, it's not like there's a thousand groups in the server, should be fairly simple to control IMO.

pls give fla a /group

last time they did that they forgot to delete alot of groups that were and are still used to hold vehicles, once again proving how things simply don't work around here. Just give the group support ig to those who are active and roleplaying instead of making them wait for months (or years) for a new script, and for fuck sake stop making people beg you just for a group support ig or even a simple request (simple mapping as adding a sign or two objects for example?) of which you will never care about later.

^ Prioritize your problems. Group has been working fine, there's no need to remove it, especially when you don't have a solution for the problem.
