Hey there guys, anyone could help me get IV:MP working. Would really like to see the progress... But I cannot see through the guidelines. As the subject says I got old and this all seems so complicated.
PS: I got recently asked if I know what YouTube is ....

Hey Tai,
If you`re running Steam to open GTA IV, then there is a chance that it installed Patch 1.0.8.0 automatically, check this topic (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=118706.0) to see how to downgrade Steam Version to 1.0.7.0.
If you have a clean GTA installation on your PC and it opens Singleplayer fine, then install this patch first; Patch 1.0.7.0 (https://us.softpedia-secure-download.com/dl/67a8888d04dd2bd4a8930b6d4ce3be0b/58cce470/200030489/games/patch/title_update_7_EN.zip).
- Download this file
- Open this with WinRAR
- Open "UpdateTitle.exe" in the RAR Archive
- Installation will do the rest automatically
Then install the IV: Multiplayer client, you can download it from here; IV: Multiplayer (http://www.gta-ivmp.com/DOWNLOAD/IVMP-0.1-T3.zip).
- Download this file
- Open this with WinRAR
- Open "IVMP-0.1-T3.exe"
- Locate your GTA IV Installation directory
- Installation will do the rest automatically
You should be able to play GTA IV: Multiplayer now, if not, then try running IV: Multiplayer in compatibility mode.
- Go to the IV: Multiplayer shortcut and rightclick it
- Click on properties
- Open the Compatibility tab
- Select: Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 7 and Run this program as administrator
- Apply the changes and retry opening IV: Multiplayer again
If you walk into any problems afterall, let us know here so we can search for solutions ;)

Meh failing at getting it work :-(

What problem do you exactly run into?
-
You need to install c++ packages
Install directx
If your pc is new and good hardware, run the game in single player first. enable v-sync from graphics settings, also make sure you use whatever your current monitor resolution is, if its 4k use 4k.
If full hd 1920x1080
I had this similar issue when it loops on loading screen, simple solution is to have the game run at your current resolution.
Finally, dont forget to run the game as admin and have it compatible to windows 7.
also add a text file name it
commandline
add inside it: -novblank
-norestrictions

Happens. The game is delicate and doesn't work usually, Many people find huge difficulties to run the game. It's not depended on how skilled you are on scripting. GTA 4 is mentioned on the list of the most buggy games (http://www.gamesradar.com/grand-theft-radar-daddys-back-you-glitches/) ever, either interior or exterior bugs. Both are included. Also let's not forget how shitty the client is.
