Here I am, again.... To make this short and not a lot of writing and bullshit I'll do this
What people are complaining about atm
- Client being unstable
- Game crashes
- Server crashes
- Game freezes
- Many script bugs, just like other bugs
- Shit loads amount of lag when there's plenty of players near each other, or in the same place
I have heard about the new client being developed and worked on at the moment, and have seen people arguing whether it's true or not, personally I do believe it is in the making, we need people to help, even if you're not a scripter, programmer or what ever the fuck it is, try in someway to help, there's bugs and other things which many probably haven't noticed and don't know about, give your feedback and idea's, so that when the new client is released ya'll don't complain like bitches about "omg this doesn't work, this is bugged, can't do this, can't do that", try to help in someway.
How we could improve the server while the new client is still in the making
- Gather together all the scripters, and checkout if there are any players on IVMP who do scripting
- Clean up the scripts a little bit, fix the little things first, so that when the new is up we only have to worry about the big things
- Possible make some type of ad's to attract more people
The thing is...... there's a descent amount of new players joining each day, but do you think they continue playing IVMP? No, they might spend a couple of days playing, but at the end they return to their favorite SAMP server or Minecraft
We should also gather some of the best cops, drivers, stunters, medics, fireman to create a video of some type, we should have a camera man, that have a pretty powerful PC/Laptop and a descent screen recording program, the cameraman must have some skills in editing, and at the end of the day we can really show what Argonath IVMP is all about, and that we're not a boring as fuck community and overall people. We should be aiming towards out of planet earth things, something that aliens wouldn't come up with. I encourage every single one of you to post into this topic and suggest new things to possibly make the server and gameplay for others better, or change it overall

I suggest it is the best to wait untill (possibly? No idea) a new client is developed before promising stuff on YouTube. This to avoid pressure on any possible team.

Tell me, what would you like to show about the server to someone who has never played on it? What would you like to show to people who have never played IV:MP but got experience in other kind of roleplay clients and games? For you, what should videomakers focus on when trying to advertise the server? Other than the usual stuff such as "we are friendly, we got this job and this other job too, we have police chases" what do you think should be showed? I can't see a serious group out there that could advertise the server and those who can are either busy or simply don't think it's worth it, some don't even care about it as long they can still play.
I personally gathered some nice clips that could be used for a "test" but i need more time to work on it and whenever i login there aren't much chances of having something worth to show to any of those people i mentioned above.

I think we should imagine a nice situation where people are playing with a ball or doing something exciting (or not), and then tell them that it's happening in their imagination and how awesome roleplaying can really be if they see things in the imaginative way (for example, we show a guy selling a hot dog then show how it looks on the server). I'm not saying it will work, but, probably we could make it work.

Because the GTA 4 map is so big, we should make more events such as meet ups, races, something like the olympics, and the list goes on if you put your mind to it. I have played on many Role Play servers in many different games, of course there is some roleplay but people are more worried about work, themselves, their status/rank, things they own and of course it can't be without money. There's just too many people chilling and being AFK in IVMP I'd usually see 3-6 people just standing in one place and not doing shit. Maybe its their lack of interest? My opinion is that we should be more worried about making the server more interesting to players, so that people actually do interact with each other and spend some time RP and doing fun things together, and sometimes taking their focus off money making

I agree but it's also up to regulars, those who play daily, to organize such events, even if it's their first time. I remember i started hosting an event after a few months my register date, it was a weird but fun marriage where everyone around the server was involved. Personally i don't have much time to organize events as i used to so yeah it's up to the new regulars to do it.
