Title: SeaGate USB Error
Post by: Plenty2x on May 06, 2017, 06:44:49 pm
I had inserted my Seagate USB which has 500 GB amount of space, and i got a error saying:

F:\ is not accessible.
cyclic redundancy check

And "You must format F:\ before you can use it." I don't want to lose my data.

It means the master directory has been corrupted. Your data is already gone.

Your best hope is to format it (Make sure to use quick format!) and then try to recover what you can with Recuva or some other file recovery software

You better get your hands to anything with Linux, burn to CD/DVD or USB and run/power your PC with it on 'live' mode (which means it runs direct from source and does not install or anything else), you might be able to see for data. If not, then your data is indeed gone as mentioned.

Best way to see if there is hardware damage is to download Crystal Disk Info, google it & free download.
