Researchers at the Dutch Eindhoven University of Technology are developing a bus that is powered by formic acid, which will be the world's first bus to do this.
The bus comes through a chemical process to convert the formic acid to the energy-rich hydrazine fluid used to drive the engine of the bus. Formic acid, also known as methanoic acid, occurs naturally in the poisonous glands of certain myrrhs but should also be able to make artificial hygiene easily.
The driver behind the bus will present this officially on July 6th and aim for the bus to start rolling at some time by the end of the year.
