Title: Packs
Post by: SamirM on September 13, 2017, 02:11:33 pm
When somebody dies, I think they should drop their pack aswell, but when you pick it up it adds to YOUR pack.
If you want, you can add that halving money shit too
And if you don't have a problem, let the pack somehow be permanent, not when you timeout you lose all those guns you just bundlebought and addpacked.

Also, I'd like more control over my pack, like /takepack to take shit from my pack instead of /resetpack which can result in you having an M4 in hand and an AK in inventory, or both in pack, so you'll lose either if you resetpack unless you store it somewhere. /resetpack should be an option too, but in some cases /takepack is needed.

What do you think?

When a player dies he will drop a briefcase which includes everything he had on him, even packs.

If you want to pick them all up, even when it has ak and m4, you use /pick <wep> <ammo> and /addpack <wep> <ammo>

The order in which you choose to pick and addpack is your call, but that will determine the weapon you wish to use. This script is specifically made this way so players will need to make a choice whether to pick something up or not. No changes are needed in this script what so ever.

What fucking money being halved?????????????

Oh, when I died my packs usually dissapear.

If you want to pick them all up, even when it has ak and m4, you use /pick <wep> <ammo> and /addpack <wep> <ammo>

Wait, so you can pick a specific item from a briefcase? If so that's half the problem gone, unless maybe you made a typo with ''/pick <wep> <ammo>''

Well, the other problem is when I /resetpack basically I have to lose either an AK or M4 if I have them both in my pack, for example. That's why I suggested /takepack.

Did you read the entire sentence? When I suggested that when you die you should drop your pack aswell (I thought the entire time you don't drop your pack when you die, I tested it myself), you can add that money can be halved.

I also suggest when you relog/reconnect or perhaps timeout -shivers- that you keep your pack, and that it doesn't reset.

If the items in your pack are not being dropped,  then that is actually a bug since you're supposed to drop all content from your inventory and pack, with few selected exceptions such as phone.

Hm, ima try that
Ima also try that /pick [weapon] [amount] shit

EDIT

Alright, it works, but still I suggest adding a command to take a specific item from a pack, not to /resetpack and having weapons of the same type replaced
This just rung a bell for me for a next idea lol

Btw this study cost me $500 XD where ma budget

No, this feature was left out of the script on purpose, because we wanted the system to have some sort of drawback where you can't just spam /pick and pickup everything, instead now sometimes you need to make a choice whether you want to pick up that 86 M4 ammo over your 143 AK ammo :)

Exactly this.

Aaand.. why so?

What's the point of that, I know it trains ''priority'' but irl you can drop a gun and take anothre one, then pick it back up again if you want so. It doesn't magically get overwritten by another gun.

In real-life you can't carry a baseball bat, grenades, pistol, shotgun, sub machine gun, assault rifle and an RPG and just magically switch between them.

Do not bring real life to a comparison when we talk about a GTA server. We imitiate real life to an extent, expecting everything to be "realistic" is idiotic when we're talking about a game where you stop burning after 73 damage has been taken or survive a jump from the roof of a skyscraper.

The script was made with a downside in mind and that's it. No further discussion is required on that subject.

Hm, alright.
Just, if there's a downside, we don't have to just tell ourselves ''Let there be some downside to it'', instead, let's try to fix it.
I meant unneccesary and pointless downsides like this one, and not downsides like limited ogras etc

There is nothing to fix.
