I have been using my Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) for about 2 years now, and I have never done any factory data reset yet. (It wasn't used before, I were the first one to use it.)
So today I have decided to clean everything in my phone and do a clean factory reset. I went to Settings > Backup and reset > Factory data reset > Reset Device > DELETE ALL. And nothing happened. I kept clicking on the "DELETE ALL" button and still, nothing is happening.
I have tried another way which is through recovery mode. I turned off my device, I held Volume UP + Power key + Home button. And I got on the top left corner "Recovery Booting..." then the screen froze and nothing happened for a couple of minutes.
What should I do in this case?

Still interested.

Is it stuck on Samsung Logo or just Black Screen? You might want to re-flash the firmware.
Try this steps:
- Turn off the device.
- With the device turned off, press Volume Down, Home and Power Button simultaneously.
- Once you see the warning message, release all buttons.
- Press Volume Up to enter download mode.
You would need to use the exact firmware of your Samsung, download the correct firmware (which country) and then flash it using Odin.

Hi fella, had a similar problem a few days ago with an S6.
Look up a software called smart switch ( unsure if that was the name, will update when i get home) and Kies 3. You can use one of these to completely wipe data from your phone to factory reset. I am at work now so I can't really type in the detailed procedure but try youtubing "binary lock samsung galaxy fix". Any of the 2017 videos will give you links to both softwares and instructions on how to restart it.

I think this one will probably work. When I find a time, I will do it and update you. Thank you.

Okay so, here is my update.
I backed up everything I need from my device and then I downloaded Kies 3. I have followed the instructions and I went to Firmware Upgrade & Initialization progress window and I got stuck on 0% there for over an hour.
I unplugged my device and turned it on while the window is still open, nothing bad happened to my device but the window is still at 0% even though the device is not in download mode or connected.
