Hey all, happy year this year (2017) was bad year for me dont know its bad for you or not but its not at all bad we seen the good things in it , Happy rp VCMP :D good to see all active and all combine to make better to the server with a good shape as i see others says another shit but wish 2018 be happy year for all and everything comes from God, is it better for us and doesn't come from something bad , wish we have good days with vcmp guys happy new year :)

In regards to VC:MP only (keeping rl stuff out) it's been a very good year for us. I've been here for a long long time now (yeah I'm starting to actually feel old but I remind myself that Kessu, Tony, and aXXo are all older than I am!) and trust me we've had much worse. We've had years where the scripts were total shit. We've had years where the server was practically down for half of it. We've also had years where the server didn't have a real balance ingame or was empty for days. The last year or two though we've worked hard, the developers, administrators, and even the regular players. We have all contributed towards making the server an enjoyable place to come and roleplay. This year we haven't had many issues regarding script faults, server down time, or a large amount of misbehaving players (albeit a few of course). There was one point this year where the server slumped, between March and May but that was probably mainly down to me not playing (the stats don't lie). This year has been good though. We've had a good influx of new regular players, and though some veteran players have disappeared (Marcell, Sal) others have seem to have resurrected (Hitman?). VCPD have had another largely successful year, thanks mainly to Marcell, Sal, Hype, Huntsman, and of course Kessu. On the criminal side of things, Alarba has done well leading EAF. NAR have kept going strong despite unfortunate traitors. Also we've had new groups like Escotta. Not sure what happened to Soprano thought, 2016 was good for them but this year they slumped hard. This year was great indeed, even though I've only returned for the second half of it. I previously quit Argonath due to enlisting into the military and serving the compulsory nine months service. When I finally returned, with my university studies coming up, I knew I only had time to invest into one server, and I chose to stick with the one that introduced me to Argonath.
This was indeed a successful year for VCPD too. VCPD had finally become a visible part of the server instead of its previous isolationist policies that made it rather a group of select few than a group that would welcome any new player willing to roleplay a police officer. We went with the approach of teaching the new officers to suit our needs, rather than expct them to apply already knowing everytihng. We became active, we became professional, and we grew to love what we do. I climbed ranks fast, because I liked what has become of the new VCPD and loved being a part of it. And here I am - the man in whose hands the VCPD is trusted to prosper in. So far I think I was fairly successful, but there's always room for improvement, and that's what I strive for. I dont think there has been a year during my stay here in Argonath during which VCPD would be so active and passionate about what it does, and contain such great people. There are many people who contributed to this, but the main contributions would go to Sevrin, Hype and Kessu, who sticked around no matter what happened and helped me regain hope when at some difficult times I was ready to give up. May 2018 be yet another great year for the department.
As for the server, it has also been more active than it ever was before. Finally there are several criminal groups instead of a one gang monopoly that previously took place. The scripts are stable, we haven't had a real downtime or script fault crash, and any issues plaguing the server were quickly resolved. The admin team does a good job at what it is supposed to do and I really hope this will be the case in the future too.
Compared to the times when VCMP would go down for two months and there was nothing the VCMP management could do about it, the last two years were a complete blessing for the VCMP community.
The VCMP Argonath community is something special. It is different than the rest of Argonath that's for sure. The players are loyal, warm and nice to hang around with. We do not get plagued by constant whining and crying and the drama that plagues other Argonath branches. This is what makes it special for me. This is why everyone else should come here too.
We are one big family with integrity.

I take this year over the past three years I've been playing in the server. I settled and got with the family Gonzales, empire slowly growing big, and with the help of the other criminal wings, the plane of crime went up. Everything - emphasis - Everything is fine.
Server side, it is the best time. Many great - emphasis- GREAT scripts were implemented. And, along with the playerbase, the server became enjoyable. Not with the shooting part since I suck at it. Playerbase didn't grind to a halt like the first time I played in ther server (empty 24/7) for a few months. The continous playerbase is great enough to make the server great again.
It was greater than the other years.
But it still does have some problems.
The former Gonzales family members are inactive - that's why I pick players inside very harsh and that's also why we got like, 3 members :P
Some of the players are toxic - emphasis - VERY TOXIC and/or hostile to me - mostly cops - as I am a criminal. There are also people who hates me for no reason at all.
Scripts? No, they're good.
Still, this was a good year.
I, personally, will have to end this year somehow. Probably good exam results - yes, there's an exam coming in and either that I do it good or I die and I'll never see you all again - or, more server stuff, make a big event that'll set our name in the underworld.
I encourage everyone to set their own personal and in game objectives to end the year.
In short, 2017 was good and you should do something to end it meaningfully.

Fuckin' hell, it feels as if Jan. 2017 and Nov - Dec. 2016 are a close past and not like almost 1 year ago, in July/August I realised ''damn there's already half the year gone'' but fuck it has gone by so quickly

I'll give a more serious note as well;
Year started off bad with some bad blood between me and Klaus that is (hopefully :D) behind us and we can yet again work toward having the best and most stable server in the VC:MP history!
VCPD itself, along with FBI had it's ups and downs, ranging from an incredible early year with Marcell, krys, Sal, stalker, Hype etc having massive effect on criminals to me being alone 1v10 for 2 weeks straight. Server was indeed quiet during the early months like Klaus mentioned, due to him and myself both being inactive at the time, but was quickly remedied once we both returned to full activity and I racked up 14-18 hours a day in the server for 2 weeks straight :dead:
On the criminal end of things, I think I was more involved than FBI should've been in the crimes made in the city. :rolleyes:
I ended up witnessing a massive as fuck gang war of EAF & NAR going up against VU and "the polish mafia", to then have VU go over to the cop side and polish mafia disappearing entirely (we could say EAF & NAR were victorious). EAFs and NARs alliance has been questionable at best, with the best part being Klaus calling Kappa a hooker and getting his head sniped right off as a retaliation :lol:
Administratively the server did have a hiccup or two early year, but they were swiftly handled and things are looking better than ever right now with the addition of a silent rank for "Main Admins" that are more involved in server development than normal admins.
Script side it has been extremely stable after the more major bugs were fixed by fuzzie, axxo and stormeus. We're still rocking an epic 99.99% uptime since August 2015 (server launch for 0.4 client) which is an insane % to have over 2 year period. Scripts are now progressing rather slowly, but the newer addition of a certain IV:MP Manager (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?action=profile;u=17671) to our scripting team hopefully will remedy it (pls fuzzie come back too). Mapping is going along great with Klaus putting in more man hours both in game in live server and mapping than one could expect from a busy student.
We have great things planned out for the scripts that will most certainly increase the quality of the roleplay scenes as well as give more pleasant experience for both criminals and cops (later hopefully a lot more stuff for civilians as well).
I'd like to thank players for keeping the server awesome year after year, giving the development team some inspiration to keep working to give you guys the experience you apparently like a lot!
I'd also like to thank the admin team for keeping up high quality administrating even when players appear to be quite whiny at times or even accuse you of random things that are absolutely not true!
Last but not least, let's work together to make the server even more enjoyable than it is now so we can continue rocking on and possibly reach #1 rank in activity in VC:MP as a whole!
psst... Congratulations to EAF for becoming the oldest clan currently active in the entire VC:MP. That is a feat not easily achieved!

IRL 2017 bad year for me because I lost two of our family members (May god peace their soul).Also I felt dangerously ill.
But this year, I felt like "oh , yes now im playing vcmp" my english was not understandable back in 2014-15 and still.My english improved rapidly when I joined Argonath because the language of this server is only english while other server of vcmp are multi-language servers.
