Title: Brits try EU migrants’ vegetable picking jobs in Cornwall
Post by: Vitorrio on February 07, 2018, 12:47:44 pm
BBC News has done a test to see how well do British people compared to migrants in picking some vegetables up. Seems simple, right? Well, it was actually harder for the Brits, probably because of the way the education system teaches people all over the world that jobs like working in agriculture are “inferior” compared to being a doctor. This is done subconsciously, and even the society seems to promote higher paying jobs. And that’s how imigrants “took” the jobs of people from rich countries who didn’t want to take them, only because that is how they were taught. It really is an opportunity to think about our stereotypes and prejudices, at least for once.
