Title: Gaming Laptop advice
Post by: Hevar. on April 01, 2018, 03:11:58 pm
So i want to buy a powerful Gaming laptop, that can handle all modern games without any problem without overheating or loud fan noise.

It should be GeForce GTX 1070 8GB
It should have Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ processor
It should have 120hz and support for G-sync and please no TN panel, it should be IPS
And storage of like 256GB and 1 TB, SSD would be fine

So if you know any laptop that fits my describe? Please link the laptop so i can take a look at it.

Wouldn’t really recommend a laptop though but if you don’t have the space for a desktop I understand

You can either get MSI or Asus, I would recommend Asus since they are known to be 'Stealth' type of laptops.

Seen a lot of reviews about this, this shit is overheating easy and its too risky that sometimes it can shut down the laptop due overheating.

Laptops shouldn’t be used for gaming IMO... If you want a “powerful” computer, buy a desktop

You're right about ASUS, it overheats a lot, and probably can't handle gaming.
I'd agree with Kacper, get a desktop if you have the possibility to.

If budget is not an issue, Gigabyte Aero 15X (https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Laptop/AERO-15X#kf) is the best there is.

If budget is tight, Lenovo's Legion series (https://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/lenovo-legion-y-series-laptops/Legion-Y720/p/80VRCTO1WWENUS0) is awesome. (720 > 520)

Asus is a lost case, don't go for Razer. You can also look at Alienwares if you wish.

MSI Ghost Pro is also awesome just don't fall for 4k and opt for 1080p or max 2K display. :D

All those people saying get PC, the powerful laptops do support external monitors.  Also good luck finding GPUs at correct prices these days as miners buy all.

If you want something powerful, then no matter what its gonna generate a lot of heat, as it uses more watts, and laptops just physically doesn't have enough cooling possibilities, cuz of their purpose and use. Ofc now days this gets less and less true..

I would suggest you just look at your budget for it and start there. Cuz ofc you can find perfect laptop out there for like 2 grand, but lets be honest.. that's just throwing out money. And i believe PC for half of its price will do same or more, + if its decently new chip-set pc will have much much better upgrade possibilities.

Duuude, the Gigabyte laptop has the best damn panel in the world. lol Check the link, its certified for the best color accuracy out there. Yes its IPS, no idea about 120hz tho. I think its 60.

The Omen is a nice series, but I find them a bit behind in few areas, like cooling. But check reviews of their cooling functionality. The specs look good! Though 4k as default is a bad choice as you will get lower FPS on native res.(120FPS on 1080p vs 40 on 4k) You can always connect to a 4K TV later on to experience 4K when you feel like it.

Yes. Especially in countries like India, there's still a margin cause electricity is cheap or can even be stolen.

Bitcoin mining is dead tho, now there's other coins. Eth, Monero and even Electroneum(the current hype).

Due to that its impossible to find GPU's even in the Asia's largest Computers market Nehru place.
