Title: How are we all?
Post by: Andeey on April 14, 2018, 02:56:51 am
Greetings everyone,

I would like to know everyone's thoughts on the current map/mapping and what they think can be done to better improve it.
For example, Which new interiors would you love to see in the server and what we need more of, What kind of exteriors around the map you would also like to see.

Don't hesitate to give your honest opinions, I don't judge :)

IMO:

Needs more, more, more and then some more (not so much to break stream, but still). Our current exterior is probably 70% vanilla, with a few exceptions such as construction spots, pershing, and can't really think of anything else off the top of my head. For the most part, its the same GTA world from when San Andreas came out.

I think that people are tired of the same scenery, and we do have quite a few custom interiors which helps for scenes....but it's not just the interior mappings that need love, it's the exterior world too. Some of our interiors are straight out of RS2 (some of the older, bugged ones from when the property script was first added around 2008ish).

You sample other servers, you see an overabundance of custom mapping, from ugly placed player-creations to extravagant new islands, wicked stunts, and elaborate apocalypse/zombie worlds that are in ruin.

On top of that, we actually have a comparatively small (to the total number of objects) amount of objects players can place...critical things that were removed in earlier versions (like Kitchen Units) because one face of the object was transparent and abused. I think we need a ton more objects for players to tinker around with. This goes for wearables too.

TL;DR:
More interior mapping
More exterior mapping
More /objects for players to place in their own purchased interiors
More /wear items

We should place something that prevents you from taking a crash with another user at the intersection of Little Mexico and Idlewood, on Alhambra Street.

So we will not exploit so much xd

There's many bugs still around and i think that's something that needs to be fixed to have a better gameplay for everyone.

I'd like to see alot more small things placed around, like benches, trashcans etc. More random junk, stuff placed around the map. I still remember the custom cabin at the farm above the SF-tunnel, things like that would be nice. Doesn't need to be for sale tho! :)

things in such small areas / turns can cause crashes more than preventing them, Though we have SAPD that can place barriers there and moderate the traffic.

Fixing bugged interiors/map regions is something we can prioritise(We have some map fixes coming soon)

Ah yes, DHR.Mike's place up at the farm with the mapped in fire pit, I remember it well and we can definitely map some more things around the map like that with ease.

It would be great if they add interior while we /getin into certain vehicles such as Journey, Tropic, and Trailer. Something similar like these:
- Journey's Interior when we type /getin

- Trailer's Interior

Should've kept the good mappers that spent their time actually trying to improve the server around. Due to HQ's actions we've lost the best ones, without a chance of them coming back. Make it worth the mappers' while.

Much more focus on exterior mapping.
Proper parking space at front of LSPD(utilize the space front of the fence at the head of LSPD)
A little fencing around LS bank.
And yeah i want to show you a source as an example of what i'm trying to convey.

As Ernst said we would love to see benches, barriels on fire, tables and radios on it trash cans at Idlewood, ganton, east los santos (gangster places) those little things are important in my opinion since they will revive those places.

Maybe a bunker interior? also a big prison would be dope like we had in RS4 with mordor

There should be a topic where people can suggest ideas of mapping but yeah I liked the vehicle interiors idea.
and over all maybe players will have the chance to bring up unique ideas like the kart racing interior.
I mean many interiors can be designed for a huge amount of roleplay scenes.

I'd also like to see the pricetag for custom mapping to come down. Sure, it was meant as a money sink and players are rich af, but no one is really willing to pay 10m for a custom building or 250k per object mapped. I've had several conversations with players that would be willing to fork out 1 or 5 mil for custom mapping, but the general consensus is that 10m/250k (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=122673.0) is simply too much.

Perhaps combined with Miki's suggestion about having a place for players to make suggestions, there could also be a "Mapping Market". Players submit what they would like to have mapped for them or their group, how much they are willing to pay, and mappers from there can choose (with HQ approval, ofc) which projects they'd like to commission.

Multiple mappers could even compete to provide maps for the player/group to choose from and award the payment to. If not, then a tiered system, like 500k for a basic house, 1m for a regular size, 5m for mid to large and 10m for something gigantic-scale. Better yet, make gems useful and make them the required payment for custom mapping.

I agree with this, and we should be able to lock them if we own the vehicle. Also, the blip of the player who enters the vehicle interior should be shown.

Make use of the both building that have interiors on themselves, the one at Downtown near glen park and the other at Rodeo, you can make fancy apartments or a dynamic hotel there.

How hard is it for the vehicle interiors idea to be implemented, and will it contain any bugs?
