Title: IVMP T4 - servers don't show up & t4 forum can't be reached
Post by: Harzy on May 05, 2018, 01:11:30 pm
so as the title says, I pretty much can't find a server to connect to, tried so many different things, but the launcher just sometimes shows the server and sometimes not, for some weird reason :rage:

however, even the IVMP Forum website shows the message "This site can't be reached" which makes me unable to download any new updates..

so if anybody got some help to offer, it would be much appreciated  :D ;)

Sounds like a network issue but what do I know, I am unaware of any currently active routeblocks. Have you tried a VPN?

Or try with a online proxy nl.hideproxy.me (https://nl.hideproxy.me/go.php?u=bC6TPaWiHUTs69LO61wr&b=5&f=norefer)

be careful to not enter passwords in these online services

If it is VPN issue, I suggest you to install CyberGhost in your PC and use it. It's a way easier to change the VPN.

Okay so first try by, using in your console it can be found in search by typing CMD.exe or Command Prompt in windows search.

Example of CMD:

Code: [Select]
ping forum.iv-mp.eu

If you are getting no response then you have something blocking the connection. You can paste the log in the topic if you are not sure as its not really any sensitive information to show.

So if you can answer these questions that we might be able to know how you got it.

What antivirus you got?

Since when are you getting this problem?

Did you change your internet provider/modem?

1. Try with other device
Try using your phone or a different computer on same connection if you can access the website/forum - > t4 one
- Also can be checked as @Semirak  said with a proxy though its better to check with a different device. You can try both.

2. Try restarting your router/modem
If you have router/modem you should be able to restart it by turning it off and on again.

3. Try flushing your DNS
typing in console aka Command Promt
Code: [Select]
ipconfig /flushdns
4. Try changing your DNS
Cloudflare DNS, 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1  https://1.1.1.1/

5. Try Using VPN
A good free VPN Software you can try is Windscribe.

If 1. works then try 2. and 3. also 4.  if they don't work try 5.

It may be a provider blocking a certain host though that wouldn't make sense.. Are some websites blocked for your? Like Facebook, Youtube or such? Like have you ever had this issue on other websites?

The main reason i stated all of these is that using a VPN on long terms is not good. So lets try to find a way to fix the issue  ;)

He can't reach the forum neither can he see servers on the iv:mp client. Its connection based issue.

I meant he could use another device, connect it through his network and ask someone to download it for him and he will receive it like any Facebook or What's up document.

I could see the server when it was outdated for me, just couldn't connect.

Still if IV:MP client is using the same servers as the forums. He wont be able to see the server. Since to be displayed it has to connect to IV:MP server to be shown in list on the client.

I'm placing my bets on the connection issue.

Hmm, might be.. and no I haven't tried a VPN yet.

I just tried opening the forum and it worked like nothing is wrong, even the game launcher showed the server as soon as I opened it up.

I've almost done most of the points you have mentioned @Danny Soulson and they didn't work at the time. i miss u 2 bby c u in game suun :*

I appreciate your help everyone and I will keep you updated if anything happens.  :)

Look on your Windows Firewall if IVMP has been blocked.

I understand that and how it works, it just shows the ping whenever I am able to connect to the site and the game, otherwise it would say the following: Ping request could not find host forum.iv-mp.eu. Please check the name and try again.

I checked windows firewall before posting at first, nothing changes.. @Surena :/

Try this once again if you still cannot reach T4 forums:

3. Try flushing your DNS
typing in console aka Command Promt
Code: [Select]
ipconfig /flushdns
4. Try changing your DNS
Cloudflare DNS, 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1  https://1.1.1.1/

5. Try Using VPN
A good free VPN Software you can try is Windscribe.

Try this if you still cannot see/connect to any server:

Go to your Control Panel, click on Windows Firewall. You will find Advanced Settings on the left, click on it and a new window will pop up.
There you can go to Inbound Rules. Create a new rule. A new window will pop up that will ask you if you want to assign a rule to a Program or specific Port, click on Program.
Select ivmpGameLauncher and allow the program. When you are done check if ivmpGameLauncher does show up any server, if it doesnt, find the rule you just created and go to Properties.
Find the Protocols and Ports tab and assign port 8889 UDP to it, save and exit. Check if it works now.

Can you see a server now but are you unable to connect to it?
1. Make sure you are using the correct Client version, it changes from test to test. Click here to download the latest version (https://mega.nz/#!SCYVGJgL!3YW7Mxcv3j6y396vfdY2j5ryqIKAfwoJtPB8x1Nuaxs), if you cannot access T4 forum.
2. Allow "EFLC.exe" and "Client.dll" to use port 8888 UDP.

If this doesn't help then you can also try allowing port UDP 8888 and 8889 as Port, not for specific program.
