Title: Decent achievement system

So - achievements may seem as unnecessary thing, but lets keep in mind that most (if not all) MMORPGs depend mostly on achievement system (including so loved WoW) and Argonath still is MMORPG. They might not give anything much to roleplay, but it sure is way to keep ppl busy and community wanting to play just by addiction to get that "one last" achievement.
I will try to list all decent achievements i can think of, but any other decent ideas for them might be shared here and i'll try to add them to list.

Main points about achievements:

Achievements should be optional - meaning, you dont gain anything advantageous from them, maybe only for few major ones.
There should be progress bar/count to see how far you are into collecting that specific achievement in the achievement window
The achievement window needs to list categories of the achievements when double-clicked - opens a list of that categories achivs WITH explanation how to achieve them (maybe except with that player needs to find)
Some of them should be continuous achievements - example, once you complete "earn 10 000$ ARD" it transfers into "earn 50 000$ ARD" till some specific amount. Each part of it giving specified achievement points
If i player already has filled all of the continious achievements when this is introducted, he/she should be rewarded with all the parts of the achiv. e.g. if achive earn 10k goes 10k, 50k, 100k, and player already has 100k, he should receive all 30 points for all 3 of the achivs
They should give achievement points. So player is able to see his achiv points/total achiv points
Players should be able to see each others completed and not completed achievements, and acquired achiv points
Achivs can be created new by sen admin+ (or other high staff rank) and given out by this rank in events, testing, etc.ONLY as legacy achievements that do not give points

There are already 1030 Achievement points and devs/suggestions will add more. So thats a lot of things already to do in server

I like and mostly agree with this idea. I actually gave a similar one and this one can be made better by actually adding rewards for these. Even working as a normal worker and spending some time with that job should earn you the reward that can be money. One of the main aspects of RS4 was that living was easy. No one would actually live in a place where it just gets too hard to even breathe. That's why I even suggested to have something similar like BSF back so that we can fund private companies which would in-turn bring more population to the server.

All we need right now is a system of attraction and that can only be added with having objectives and their rewards in the server which actually make people to spend their time on it and have those achievements and rewards in their corner (yes believe me even if that money or achievement is fake and just is in a game)

I am currently working on a more in depth skill system with levels and XP. The first system to use this will be the woodcutting job.

This is amazing, and we need that too. But i hope that achievement system will get some upgrades too as that might be what drives a lot of players to get those levels and XP.

Updated the list of all achievements a bit, plus added achievements totaling in 220 more possible achievements points, listed below. I also added a new category "Chat" achievements.
Added few details on how i think it should work to the list at the start of the first post.

Will also add rewards section to some of them, but as i have mentioned already in the first post, the rewards should not be anything major and advantageous and should only be for top ones. This needs to only be another thing to do and grind

Supported, great idea in general. (Perhaps rename the Firefighter I, II and Police Officer I, II since those are ranks of those agencies)

If we were to do this, the points should mean something.

I am thinking, perhaps an achievement vendor which sells items for achievement points. These can be rare, or otherwise unique items. :thinking:

Well, that is one way to go, but i think that is generally optional. If players will have the ability to see other players achiv points then that will be competition within itself.
As also mentioned previously, this is basically as taken from any decent MMORPG in which achiv points are rarely currency to gain anything, but rather mostly something that you can do on a side while doing other things. Just that it might unlock some perks if you have a specific amount of these points, but as also stated previously, i think it should not provide players with ANYTHING that would give them an advantage over other players.

There is an issue with them being currency also as if you spend them, then you will not be able to see other players total achiv points as a quick indication of their achiv progress, and since there are a limited number of achievements and their points then it would also not really work as a currency.

From all stated above, i would suggest not to use them as a currency, but rather just as total achievement progress indication.

Treat them like /train was supposed to be. You train with a person a certain amount of times you unlock training skills. But other than train anything else shouldn't be a priority.
