Hey all,
I feel the player blips should be added back. I know it's more realistic the way it is right now, but due to the complex map, using /area to catch a suspect is laborious. I feel the cop job should be more fun for everyone whether it be the LCPD Command, the FBI or even an ARPD Officer.
I feel the cop job is unattractive without the blips, and I get it wouldn't be as realistic, but it's more fun, and I favour fun more over realism in this situation.
Support/Unsupport with a justification and basis for your answer.

I support this idea, not all of us know where the locations are and the free cops are decreasing too because it is very boring and complex as Meeses said and 95% of the cops are ranked and very few come often. We need to bring back the old system, it maybe can decrease the inactivity.
-
Hell no, cooperate, use heli and land units, solo catching suspects should be hard.
-
I prefer loosing suspects than hearing the same excuse "You map chased me" in traffic stops. As superh2o said above: cooperate, roleplay, organize units.. communicate.
-
"You map chased me"
So that gives each and every cop the right to say "You RPed a murder" too?
I mean no shit captain obvious, what's wrong with that?
Jesus I'm so glad SA:MP is not the only salty Argonath part.

People are too lazy to do some effort to find suspects. Just do /area and search for the suspect. You don't know locations? Study the map. Also, it will not be fun at all. It will be annoying as hell. Police duty is already good now, and nobody complained about removing player blips.
Just do some efforts to find the suspect rather than being lazy.
-
Back when I was the Chief of the LCPD, I encouraged the idea of the player blips being removed after some distance. This to avoid cops being lazy and to encourage working together with heli / ground units.
Don't be lazy, communicate and work like a real life cop.

It's not a matter of laziness or refusal to communicate. It's just that the blips disappearing make it less fun, another former Chief said the same thing when I talked to him a while back.
Thing is, if someone says a maphunted them, then for crying out loud, show some proof.
If you want the situation to stay the same, sure, but imo it's not as fun to be on duty anymore

If you feel bored for not being able to be a blip chaser anymore then maybe roleplay is not your kind of server.

Thanks for your comment, Dhia. It was very necessary..

First of all, Manoni, it's not that I love blip chasing, but what about when there's a shortage of police? It becomes laboriously difficult with ONE or even two cops, and those cops have to be pretty skilled with vehicular handling to keep up without losing the blip. If you guys don't want to revert back to the way it was, that's fine, I respect your opinions, of course, that's all part of the ideas section. Along with all the other topics in this board, this is merely an idea, it doesn't need spiteful remarks, and yes, I'm referring to you, Dhia.
However, I feel there's actually a better alternative. Do what VC:MP does, add back the player blips, but don't have an orange color for the suspect unless there is an air unit flying above the suspect, broadcasting the location back to the ground units. This means they blend in more, but it does become slightly easier and a bit more fun. Discuss this idea, not the old one.
-
Uhh no? It wasn't really that hard when I was a cop and chasing someone alone. And it's alot more fun if there are alot of cops which, sadly, people don't get. Me and a couple of my friends were having so much fun RPing a chase and communicating over the radio. Hell, I want the blips to be totally removed for more realism.
-
I thought that you wanted the blib which is near our name tag above the character but after i have read people's opinions i realised that you want the blibs on the full map anyway it's not needed i have faced many issues while my duty where i find people near some suspicious area they will be like "/p MAP HUNTER" so it's better to be invisible.
-
better idea everybody resign from police duty and became suspects XD

Now it is MINIMAP HUNTER lol

The "map hunting" fiasco is oftenly used by those who blame it on everyone else but themselves.
An actual driver is going to escape from a pursuit with or without the blips.
If you simply support the removal of the blips just for 'escaping easier' then that's just wrong.
For more realistic enviroment I can understand, but for the cops and robbers issue, hell no.
That was my point, it was just not well written, it's not directed to you but everyone @StevenS

even with blip on i will still pretend not knowing su location if i don't see su in my eye sight xD
