Title: A timer for starting to apply the paint on the vehicle.
Post by: kawashty on December 05, 2018, 06:50:20 pm
Hello there,
I got this idea before it happen infront of me ingame but after it happend i moved on to share my thoughts here.

Firstly : What if we got a timer says your vehicle will apply this paint after N/A mins so that it should be realistic ..

1)Benefits from adding such a script: To prevent people from a rapid change of car colors when cops are searching for them inorder to not avoid roleplay instantly and cops don't hate their life working.

2)Also to prevent people who passby the ds and getting the commands ready inorder to change color while moving and to escape from cops instantly while cops still after them about 100m.

How commands will work:
1)We will apply the same command /carcolor 0 0 0 0 ,then after that the color should be applied after we do a new command /applycolor ,after a few secs/mins color should be changed ,if you didn't apply that command which i suggest to add (/applycolor) when you move away from the Ds your default car color will be returned.

Edit: /savecar would stay for tunes as well as colors but the alternative command for saving car color function would be with /applycolor too.

What if someone who is not a suspect wants to change his car colour by testing multiple IDs, wouldn't that be annoying to wait few minutes to test different colours?

What about having this system for criminals only so it's fair.

You have had cases where people would change their car colour and you weren't able to find them anymore?

+1

You could still trace down people by plate and/or identification if he pulled away from TS after showing his identity at first and you lost him before you could suspect, I guess.

Face verification, numberplate database, passport/license verification, traffic light cameras, and witnesses are all ways to locate and pursue a suspect.

You just need to properly use those methods in RP.

I have faced one ,while a super car being chased and took a right turn road "the road which is between Hove beach Ds and other small apartments" and suddenly its color changed after i met it on the other side of the road.

We are not even talking about roleplay perspective anymore but realistic possibilities...

People cannot use the P'n'S anymore so the only way to change color is by going to a dealership and manually type the whole color cmd then return.
This takes some times and means you truly lost the person and after a while found him again.

You faced this scenario only once.
I don't want to sound cold but considering we have many suspects on daily basis I don't know or cannot see why you look at this as a big issue requiring attention from others to get this to be solved by script and not by yourself.

Didn't try because the common statement they say is "how you got me i changed my color "

Means you just didn't do your job properly as a police officer. You tell those people that there was face identification, traffic light cameras, registration (number plates) and changing their car color doesn't mean they escaped.

Don't listen to those people and neglect your role as an LCPD Officer.

:) So it is a one-way street for them then? They are fine with the cars changing colours in the blink of an eye, but are not ok with you also accepting that fact.
Indeed, unlike real life, on the server you can paint vehicles instantly, and that may cause misconceptions. It is not a perfect simulation and would not be the first deviation from how things are done in the real world.
I see that, aside from changing the script to be more realistic, you can also just act accordingly: embrace the fact that in the server's world cars can change colours instantly.
Let's say we have developed some advanced nanites technology, or magic, or whatever you think fits the situation more.  :)
