Title: [0.3DL] SAMP Crashes right on login [FIXED] - Outdated
Post by: Younes on December 10, 2018, 08:51:59 pm
Hello. Since I had been using this client since more than half a year now, I've come across a bug which might disrupt the gameplay of some players in the community.
The bug is simple and common with the new client which the SA:MP development team released, the 0.3DL client, which Argonath recently moved to.

This bug is known to happen when you're using a server-side added skin (i.e SAPD winter skins) and you would crash simply because of a mod you have that would make you crash instantly upon joining.
Unfortunately, this guide here isn't a permanent fix for you to play if you have the mod, but rather serves as a way for you to be able to play in this new client.

The bug is because of a mod that some players have installed, called GTA V Hud. While this mod is useful and liked by most players in the SA:MP community, it was known to cause issues since the release of this client.
Note: This bug happens with some of the server-side skins and not all of them. It can work smooth without any issues on some skins while it can crash for you if you have it on.

How does GTA V Hud look like?
This is how the HUD looks like.

How do I fix this?
There is no fix. Either remove the HUD and play freely with the skin you chose, or avoid putting on the skin(s) that cause your game to crash.

If another player uses the skin that crashes my game, does it affect me if I encounter him?
No. You will only crash if you put the skin on yourself. If a nearby player uses the skin, it won't affect you at all. It will load as normal.

What should I do if my game crashes after I put the skin on?
You cannot rejoin the same server again until you disable your GTA V Hud or remove it completely. If you want to keep your mod on, and want to join the server and switch to another skin, you can simply move a simple file out of your game folder which will disallow the mod from loading when you start the game, thus not interfering with your skin and not crashing you.
Once you are in game, you can change to another skin, quit your game, and put the file back.
The file's name is: "V_HUD_by_DK22Pac.asi" (P.S: You can remove any file that disallows the mod from loading. This one is simply tested and worked. Your HUD will not load, but your minimap will be broken)

I hope this helps some of you.
