Title: Suggestions for police
Post by: Liam Jake on January 19, 2019, 08:59:38 pm
I have seen some officers committee crimes, on duty RPly. I was told to use /report makes no sense, no? I think freecops should be punished by LCPD staff if they break a regulation/law and should not involve administrators in these matters since it's being dealt RPLY. So i suggest if LCPD were able to punish freecops, and not admins. And for those who say "it's a light rp server", that's wrong, it's not, if you involve admins in RP matters, it sounds like a CnR/freeroam server and not a light RP server.

Another thing is, ranks should be seen when you speak in radio, for example /r " LCPD Cadet Arslen Carter(8) radio: reporting 10-8 from DPD " and the /rank id in-game should be removed because it isn't RPish :p

Adding /callsign,  would be useful and would look more serious and professional having /callsign, example, i have a callsign, my callsign is ADAM-1, i will have to write /callsign ADAM-1 to save my callsign, and whenever i write in radio, my callsign can be seen. At the moment, it's pretty hard to write your callsign every single time when you write in radio.

The FBI has that role of solving dirty cops problem, as they are able to suspect, free cops without cop banning them.

I play the dirty cop role, from time to time, and i have been taken in for questioning few time, so if its RP, LCPD/FBI will reply with RP.

The report free cops to admins, come from all non rp things free cops can do, from speeding, dming and such.

Its just overall lack of effort from people, so they adopted half information's like report RP actions to admins, same as if you report a man for stealing your car, you will be told to call 911 as its RP.

Point One: That's already possible, I think some LCPD staff can also suspect freecops, but I support it for all NOOSE/LCPD/FBI personnel. Admins don't get involved with that sort of thing as it's still RP.

Point Two: /rank id is perfectly fine and does not need removal. Having a rank show up in the radio is another way of wanting to exaggerate a rank, official law enforcement already have a dark blue color, just say in /r for example: Fanta_Fizz (1) radio: LCPD Chief Fanta Fizz reporting - 10-8

Point Three: Convenient, supported.

Freecops that roleplay being corrupt are to be handled by law enforcement officials. Freecops that commit rulebreaks are to be handled by administrators using /report.

As of removing /rank and adding the rank to the radio messages, agreed.

As for /callsign, I do not have an opinion on it.

So, you're saying if a cop is drifting/speeding (basically traffic law breaking RPLY) should be handled by an administration and is against the rules, but when a civilian does that, it's RP? makes no sense... what actually should happen, civilian gets a ticket and a cop gets a punishment from LCPD, both dealt Rply and no admins required, simple. I think it should be handled by LCPD officials, and punish the freecop by suspending(/copban) him for failing to obey the police procedures..

Freecops that roleplay being corrupt are to be handled by law enforcement officials. Freecops that commit rulebreaks are to be handled by administrators using /report..
I completely agree with this. What i meant is, freecops simply ignore the LCPD procedures and do not follow it at all. What I'm trying to say is, freecops should be under LCPD command and should obey the LCPD supervisors just like regular LCPD officers..

Police officers are the ones enforcing the law, if they are unable to follow the law in multiple situations, and if no higher ranked officer is present, admins will step in.

Again as i said, when things can be done with RP, admins will not step in, when things go out of control and out of RP, admins will step in.

Lets be real, LCPD ranked officers that have the right to investigate corruption are not online 24-7, that's when admins step in, when situation is out of control, and all warnings fall to def ears.

When i say handled by admins, i don't mean a punishment to be given, in most cases all it takes is a pm and a warning.

LCPD/FBI/Admins used to be more strict in cop bans and actions for bad police officers, back in the days before you could go on duty with no test.

Now most of people on duty are behaving in according with law, and slip only from time to time.

Police officers are the ones enforcing the law, if they are unable to follow the law in multiple situations, and if no higher ranked officer is present, admins will step in.
That's the issue. Admins already have duties to deal with rulebreakers/newplayers. It's not admin duties to take care and watch a cop all the time if a cop is speeding or drifting so he can copban him..but involving an admin into an RP matter is just ridiculous in my opinion. It's true police officers are the ones enforcing the law, if they aren't and there are no any higher rank officer, people can take screenshots and report to ARPD forums and not use /REPORT..

Again as i said, when things can be done with RP, admins will not step in, when things go out of control and out of RP, admins will step in.
What do you mean out of control? as long as the cop RPs being corrupt, there is no limit, unless he breaks the rules..

Lets be real, LCPD ranked officers that have the right to investigate corruption are not online 24-7, that's when admins step in, when situation is out of control, and all warnings fall to def ears.
Let's be real, admins are also not online 24/7. But this is absolutely wrong, it has nothing to do with the issue tbh, people can take screenshots and report it to LCPD command staff at ARPD forums..so it's not a big deal..

LCPD/FBI/Admins used to be more strict in cop bans and actions for bad police officers, back in the days before you could go on duty with no test.
On my time, whenever i reported a freecop for breaking a regulation/procedures rply via /r, i was told that freecops are not part of LCPD and they are handled by administrators not LCPD.

Now most of people on duty are behaving in according with law, and slip only from time to time.
I have no problems with freecops, all i want is freecops to be under LCPD command and to obey LCPD procedures. If they broke one, LCPD take care of the freecops.

I also did drift by an accident right at MGS, while there were 3 high ranked officers including fbi, but i ended up getting pmed by an admin paprika and was warned not to drift or he will copban me :)

LCPD guidelines are just that LCPD guidelines that all of there members must follow.

Admins duty's are extensive and are not limited to newplayers/rulebreakers.

Its admins duty to ensure fair and safe environment for all players, if that is being disrupt by a police officer, and no other more qualified player is there to solve the situation its admins job.

You are spinning my words, in didn't say anything about punishing corrupt police officers, only those who are constantly disrupting other players and using the badge as shield while they break some laws, its not limited to traffic laws.

The exact reason that both sides cant be present 24/7 is why we have the system where we all aid each other, so insure that players are having a fair and safe environment to play in.

Paprika was a LCPD Captain for some time, he is the best police officer i know, also my mentor when it comes to LCPD procedures tactics etc etc, if he warned you he had a good reason to do so, also, as admins exist in and out of RP characters its much easier for them to pm you then for FBI/LCPD to catch up to you and then talk to you.

I get the feeling you think admins operate without talking to LCPD/FBI, as i said we all cooperate to make the best environment we can for all players.

I mean, ye, i did drift by mistake in mgs, by ACCIDENT, it was just a slip. But then i get pmed by an admin to be more careful, what's next xd? admins will start ticketing cops?

I never said paprika did something bad, it's just how this server works and i want to change it. I want admins to stop interfering in Role plays, it's not like i hate the admin team, but involving an admin in an RP is just wrong and not rpish and sounds like a freeroam server.

We are a light rp /free roam server.

You cant force anyone to rp, ivmp has its problems, the you dont need to rp when interacted is one of them.
