As the title says, i see this selling section some people doesn't follow the rules or using the currently form that Ikhm posted. I even see old topics thar has been dead and not removed.
So this selling section is a important section for all businessmen and it should have active forum moderators thats keeps an eye on this section and xleans away dead topics and making sure everyone is following the rules. So vote now and i hope HQ see this and fix it ASAP!

Yeah we could use some more moderators...
-
I've applied (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=100414.msg1960740#new) since years for both the selling and groups and families section, sign me up already. :gand:

The current rules need to be edited as well.

Forum moderator applications are opened and chosen by the webmasters so either Brian or Carbon must check that. In the meantime, I will try to assist on this board.

Well Carbon is busy and Brian seems inactive and you're SA:MP division leader so it means its your duty now haha ye

Market Place board is cleaned up. Old topics has been locked and archived.
-
Out of every veteran who has possibly used this board for years and years, may I know how @KJones turned out to be the suitable one? It's quite funny actually.
-
No offense to Kjones, he's a decent guy and I'm sure he'd do a good job, but I think the whole point is being missed here by whoever gave him the rank.
The problem with the board isn't just the activity, yet how it was being run and now I can already see Kjones is just passing on of what was left. I personally never liked how the board was being handled by Khm (again, not trying to throw shots at anyone here).
The board moderator shouldn't have to go around topics annoying people to use some stupid template. The board is a (roleplay) advertisement for in-game properties, items etc.; players should be allowed to use their own idea and create their topics as they wish. Yes, we can add guidelines and rules that should be followed and included in the topics and yes, the current template can still be there for players who want to use it as a quick tool to create their topics.
What else that I think needs to be reviewed/edited is also the following:
7. Old topics (30 days) will be archived, if you want to keep it bump your topic once every 2 weeks.
While the topic shouldn't be constantly spammed, you should be allowed to bump it every 2-3 days. That's the whole point of advertising, limiting it to two weeks is just unnecessary.
Auction rules:
There is no rule outlining the length of an auction. Right now it functions just as the normal Selling board, except that you can add a starting bid. Make it like the old rule and add a maximum length of 30 days if the seller doesn't mention an ending date. This way, players are not forced to set a buyout, they can just set a starting bid and an end date and time like most auctions have.
So, kudos to whoever took the time to hire a new moderator, but you missed a lot as I mentioned earlier.

My points exactly.. and that's what I actually meant by 'veterans'. People who actually frequently use the board and have a lot to offer in terms of improving it and keeping it alive, other than the "USE THE CORRECT TEMPLATE, TOPIC LOCKED" bullshit I've seen in the past.
I have nothing against KJones but in brutal honesty, it would have been the last guy I'd personally hire for this particular board. All I can give him is that he is actually promising due to his in-game activity but other on that it seems that you've picked a moderator for the sake of picking one.

Where were you when we publicly asked if the rules or the board needed any changes the past 1 year?

I guess I missed it. I passed on what I mentioned above to various members of the management before and it never really got any attention. So I just went with the flow because I was annoyed at having my topic locked every time because one small detail was missing or I posted something that went "against the guidelines".

Few people helped out when we were seeking for suggestions like Lucy but none of the management passed any message to me from anyone except for Kessu. The only person that was in contact with me all the time regarding this board was Brian, infact it was managed primarily by both of us.

Forum moderator applications are opened and chosen by the webmasters so either Brian or Carbon must check that. In the meantime, I will try to assist on this board.
Well Carbon is busy and Brian seems inactive and you're SA:MP division leader so it means its your duty now haha ye
Don't like ? Leave. :)

What you mean? dont like it, leave it? Its about to keep the section clean and make sure everyone is following the rules. My point is to get more forum moderators to this section.

I don't know why this got moved to SA:MP General, however I get the point from all of you, also I'm unaware of who appointed KJones as board mod, probably Brian himself.
I will review the market board this weekend and see what it can be changed because yes, I also agree (nothing against the board mods) that the idea of locking a post for not following a template set for a board that it's destined for roleplay purposes makes no sense.

There should be a new webmaster appointed, thus we could have someone active keeping an eye and recruiting active board moderators. What's the point of having an inactive one? I mean it sounds logical for me. Active webmaster = active board moderators.
-
From my understanding, anything in regards to the web services is ultimately handled by Sauron/Gandalf. Carbon could assign the role but only the owners have the ability to hand out more than that such as FTP and cpanel. To get a new webmaster would require one of them to wake up and give web server access to someone who is active. This is what happens when things are too compartmentalized to the point where you are better off with a pineapple as an owner.

the head scripter of SA:MP should have access to the web and be the new webmaster
