Title: V:MP - Take 2, and why a change in client.

Hello,

First and foremost, as some have asked, yes I am now taking part in the redevelopment of V:MP for Argonath.

Secondly, I am fully aware of drama and distrust between a handful and our predecessor. However, make no mistake that he like many dedicated a lot of free time to this community not for fame, certainly not for wealth, but because of a belief and want to build something incredible here. For that, they deserve nothing but respect. Please keep that in mind going forward.

Lastly, it may have come to some's attention that we are now building in FiveM, which is a choice we believe is important to see a successful relaunch of the server. Why did we do this? Ultimately it came down to its functionality and that we believe we can build a truly incredible experience that we could not achieve on other clients. We stand by this.

We will not give estimates, but we will share progress as we have it. We owe this much to you.

Good luck. I'm looking forward to seeing a FiveM server, I'm sure it will be the future of Argonath if handled properly.

I originally wanted to do JS, however there was a lack of JS documentation, community built examples, and just in general not much to go on. This would've left us stumbling around wasting time. We've gone with LUA as it has the most ample support, documentation, and bases to work off of.

do we get npcs

We are discussing it and I believe may open this up to the community later on. I personally believe it adds life to the server and greatly improves the feel of everything.

Microsoft has ended mainstream support for Windows 7 anyway, probably tells you that you need to update  :D We all know how bad Windows 8 is so who has time for that.

Just out of interest, is development being done in JS, Lua or C#? Guessing JS with your background though!

I use Win7 still and FiveM works for me

Sincerely wish you best of luck with this, I really love FiveM. Finally there will be a Light RP server, because all servers are Hard RP both on FiveM and RAGE MP. It is so boring compared to what we used to have in Argonath

Why don't you use MTA:SA scripts? That was coded in LUA, right?

Because the GTA:SA engine itself is entirely different than GTA 4 and 5's. GTA3/VC/SA used an engine called Renderware, GTA 4/5 use a Rockstar proprietary engine called RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine).

Very nice to see you Teddy in new V:MP server, very nice to see you start fresh from bottom. You did SA:MP good and i know you going make V:MP good.
