Greetings,

After having some of the (so long) awaited features being released, we the HQ and development team would like to give the community the feeling that they can get more involved with the current roadmap for the next script updates. In the past every patch that was announced and released was under the decision of the members of the HQ and the scripters, we would like to change that aspect by giving you, the player, the chance to vote and suggest what it is necessary to have released in the next updates and so on.

How is this going to be done, well it is very simple, you will drop down your ideas and suggestions at this very same topic and with all those gathering we will create a poll with several options where everyone is going to be able to vote which is more important to have released in the future updates, whether if its for roleplay improvements or simply to have another way to increase your economy, any options is valid you can suggest improvements and/or changes in the already implemented scripts or suggest new ones, the leadership and the scripters will review them all and gather the most requested ones to be put in the poll and once they are made they will be released and announced on the already known developments boards.

We believe that these changes are necessary because it is no secret that leadership has had a lack of communication within its own players and that is something we intend to change. Feel free to start suggesting as many things as you like starting from this point now, remember that every suggestion has to be made within the roleplay standards.

What?

Meaning, if the SAPD Leaders want to close the department and make it application only, they should be able to. With the current player base, we have more than enough officers within the department and recruits at the moment are more of a hassle than it's worth. I would rather have police officers go through a proper academy and have a basic idea of what they're doing. So that PD as a whole starts to focus more on role-play and community policing rather than shooting cops and robbers style.

I would rather see a Governor for the whole state and that can actually propose some meaningful changes RP wise. (Eg a state prison, we need one of those)

Make SAPD locked function.

Remove player blips. (at least make invisible when you enter a property)

Remove /area.

Add /trace (phone number).

Be able to add multiple charges in for a one suspect, meaning if a suspect broke 3 laws, he should be suspected 3 times, example: /su (ID) evading traffic stop (charges - 1)  /su (ID) shooting (charges -2) /su (ID) refusing to comply(charges-3)

Players must use Firstname_Lastname.

In addition to my idea of having a apply only SAPD.

- When players get killed, they should go into a downed state for 60 seconds or so. Where they can either accept death or wait to be revived by a medic. (Or executed, doing so will give you a wanted level)

- If players fully die their body should remain there until it is picked up by EMS. (Giving it a Fireman style mission where you go around the map and pick up bodies for cash)

- Ability to /examine a body for injuries, and time of death.

- Body injuries if you fall from too high or get shot in the leg you shouldn't be able to run at least for a while.

- Add a proper /cuff and /uncuff system where players don't have to /gu. Anyone can be cuffed/tied if properly RPed.

- Add /frisk for everyone. Add /seize for police and /rob for all players. (Rules on this should be made and script limits added.)

- Add a /showcredentials [ID] command, that shows your (Law Enforcement) Agency and Rank and remove /rank.

- Fix the bug where if you type a message that's too long in /r or /e it will not send the message instead of sending two lines of text.

- Introduce more civilian jobs such as Pilot and a few others.

- Add a new script, that allows news agencies to broadcast interviews server-wide (Like a /p but in green or some other colour). [This should be able to be toggled on and off]

- Remove area, add a /trace [Phone number] cmd for high ranked PD/FBI members.

- Change from 3 Mayors to a single Governor which can propose changes for RP quality (Such as map a state prison, school, university, housing projects, etc..), propose laws, etc..

Will add more if they come, these were just some off the top of my head.

Agreed with:

Making blips invisible when entering a property.
Adding /trace
Multiple charges

The others are for heavier rp servers. Argonath always has and always will be a light RPG community. Balance between fun gameplay and realism must be maintained.

To add to that, if it's too realistic, there's less chance of people sticking around because it'll be nothing but a pain in the arse for them unless they really like the whole 1337z0r pl0x heavy rp, which not everyone does.

Argonath must maintain fun and realism or it'll just drive away the players.

Well, If you take that as crying, I feel bad for you. Propose all you want but as long as the key problems will be ignored and not focused on, there wont be anyone left to use that massive amount of commands for the police and by the looks of it, It's just all police left now isnt it?  :lol:

One thing I noticed old players say is that they left because they felt the script is complicated in rs5. Adding heavy rp functions will only mess up their heads even more.

Just lower armor price back to 2k and we're good.

On a serious note, I've never been fun of the light RP mentality but making things too complex is not the right thing to do at this point.. let's be real here.

Are there any mechanics towards criminals and civilians that you guys would like changed? Also any ideas you would suggest regarding improving new user retention (keeping new players on our server)?

Decent achievement system (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=125064.0) and overall more MMORPG elements.

Also any ideas you would suggest regarding improving new user retention (keeping new players on our server)?

This is really basic and when a completely new player joins - have state cars by default with an /engine on.
I have seen countless new players that get in a state car, cannot drive it and leave right after that.

There seem to be a few suggestions already on the topic, think that we should start creating a poll for them and see the votes of our members and what they would like to see for the next updates.

There's some things I would like to clear out firs tho. First, we need to get rid of that "this is a light roleplay server" mentality, it's really getting old. Don't get me wrong with this, we are not and we will never be a serious hardcore roleplay server like other communities like to be. We have no intention on turning Argonath into that, we will always be loyal to Argonath's core and its freedom of choice so that players can roleplay whatever they and want whenever they want, but this always has to be within the boundaries of realism, that's how roleplay works, that's what we are, a roleplay server, simple as that.

The second is related to suggestions and should be taken into account to what I said above; When suggesting an idea or a script revamp you have to be sure that this ideas/suggestions are acceptable for a roleplay server, meaning that it does not matter if your proposal gets a majority of votes if the leadership and development sees that said idea is simply not suitable for a roleplay server, it will not be added nor worked on.

Feel free to keep sharing your thoughts and ideas, they will be added to the poll eventually and announced everytime the poll is updated or cleared for new votings.

Alright so, if we remove area, and and add trace command for High rankedPD/fbi members, then what about recruits and low ranked pd/fbi members? They 99% can't find the suspect unless someone is having visual or high rank avaliable.

So? You don't always get to win.

this always has to be within the boundaries of realism, that's how roleplay works, that's what we are, a roleplay server, simple as that.

Realistically the police do not track people around, just tracking down a phone(or any other mobile device for that matter) takes weeks - approval from carrier, confirmation of IMEI, checking in with the cells they've passed. It took the US Army years to find Bin Laden and they had military grade technology. Why would a city cop be able to find a suspect for the sake of killing/arresting him?  :lol:

Alright, I'll rephrase.

Argonath is an RPG server. However, within Argonath, we try to balance fun and realism, so that the gameplay experience is enjoyable. Adding any hardcore realistic elements disrupts the enjoyable atmosphere of Argonath RPG.
