Greetings,
As many of you have seen the recent changes have brought a new government faction to the server. This faction is known as "DoC" or "Department of Corrections" unlike other factions this one is a replacement to the old SAPD free cops and will take the lovely bright blue nametag colour. The decision to add this faction was due to the addition of the county jail and the changes in the amount of time suspects can be jailed for. The Department of Corrections is tasked with guarding and tending to in-mates in the Los Santos County Jail and assisting law enforcement with prisoner transports when requested.
The Department of Corrections is still required to follow orders given by SAPD and FBI just like free cops had to in the past, there is however a distinct difference from the old freecops. There are two different ranks within the DoC those being Correctional Officer I and II. Officers who have proven themselves with activity and the will to role-play will be given the CO II rank which has a few additional tasks from those of a CO I. Department of Corrections personnel can not /jail or /suspect individuals, those duties must be done by law enforcement personnel. Serving as a DoC CO is a good way to demonstrate your abilities if you wish to apply for SAPD/FBI in the future.
A Correctional Officer I may:
- Tend to in-mates inside the LS County Jail.
- Maintain order inside the LS County Jail.
- Assist law enforcement when directly requested.
A Correctional Officer II may:
- Conduct the same duties as a CO II.
- Carry out prisoner transports from the scene of the arrest to the LS County Jail when requested by an officer.
- Assign tasks to CO Is.
Department of Corrections personnel must carry out their duties under the callsign [ID]-JOHN
-> A DoC Officer should not kill an inmate unless the said officer has their life directly threatened by said inmate.
-> A DoC Officer must not be in the possession of weapons during his duties.
-> A DoC Officer's primary task is to assign prisoners to their cells after being jailed by law enforcement.
-> Firearms are not allowed inside any correctional facility, the exception being PD SWAT.
In case of a riot inside the LS County Jail, DoC personnel are required to call for PD SWAT before the situation escalates.
