Title: [Denied]Unban Request: Nathan
Post by: Nathan on December 19, 2020, 04:56:09 am
Username and Tag: NathanA#5555
Server that you are banned in : Main Argonath Discord
Punishing administrator: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Date of ban: No clue but it was recent.
Ban reason: "You were banned for spamming the server with a script"
Full Explanation: I thought that the #toiletbowl channel was open to whatever we wanted to post. Unofficially, the channel is used as an unfiltered channel. It's often filled with NSFW content and other bullshit. I decided to fill it with my own "shit" (lyrics to a Jay-Z/Kanye West song). I thought this would be allowed since anything really goes in that channel. I'm sorry if my actions caused disruption.

Will be discussed amongst leaders.

Wait until we respond here, PMing us about it will be a swift denial.

Ok, cool.

Though, I have to ask, which rule specifically did I break under Discord rules?

There's a difference between shitposting and blatant spam with a script which gets dealt with discord's Customer Support and Trust & Safety teams themselves if actions aren't taken by the server's staff team.

You conveniently left out the rest of the very rule you cite:

It’s talking specifically about spamming Discord (the company/service not the community servers) especially with reports of players/servers. It states nothing on flooding messages. What happens inside the actual Discord server is up to the Discord server owners to decide.

Many Discord communities have dedicated “spam” channels so that server members (especially those that track activity through communications with the use of bots like DynoBot) can post spam every minute or whatever the community chooses.

Also, to shed some clarity, I am getting Discord team involved to confirm the wording on that policy.

English is your first language, it's clear what they meant by "do not spam discord" and they highlighted the other reason aswell so people don't falsely report.

Too late

Oh nice, another low blow for you - sending false reports to Discord. Clearly shows quality leadership material. Perhaps instead maybe you should focus your energy on bringing more players to the servers instead of “reporting” me and trying your best effort on getting rid of me.

But you missed one major part - if this was truly against Discord terms of service, I would have been long banned.    But I’m not and therefore I’m not breaking any rules or agreements or guidelines. Discord users get banned from Discord all the time. So I’m not questioning that if I was truly doing something wrong, I would be banned.

You clearly don’t understand the wording - spamming Discord is referring to spamming the Discord team / service and not actual communities. It’s an important nuance but if you’re not willing to understand - nobody else can help you.

So to save you some time, I’m going to summarize how the rest of this thread will go down:
0. We go back and forth on nuances and minor BS instead of focusing on the main issue.
1. You will admit that you’re making up rules on the spot to fit your narrative conveniently to again affirm my removal.
2. You update the rules to include the flooding parting.
3. I end up either being unbanned or left banned because of my “attitude”.

My money is on me remaining banned because clearly this administration does not like me and will take any opportunity to remove me. But prove me (and the rest of the community) wrong.

When will you grow up. If you looking for a ban from discord itself that's up to them not me, it doesn't matter if they took action or no, it doesn't mean that the rules don't exist and you didn't break any even if they didn't do any action. They've replied to me based on the messages you sent that I directly linked to them with the proof of you admitting to use a bot to spam, it is my responsibility to do that since if a member reported, the server would be in trouble. Grow the fuck up and take up some responsibility instead of throwing these childish tantrums.

You've clearly learned nothing and you are not able to take any responsibility over your own actions.

Unban request denied.

If you've got a problem with us as administration/leaders, report to owners as is proper procedure instead of whining in public all the time.
