Just to keep you all notified, the server has been experiencing some odd downtimes for some routes (some routes have been blocked off for some reason where a minority of players could see the panel and the server online while the others don't) there also are some possible ddos attacks (pings were high for almost everyone). Community leaders have been notified and are on alert and Sauron has been notified by them. All we need now is to wait so please bear with us for some time.

Set a traffic limit as soon as possible and clear your server logs to make more space.

Issue isn't that, we have plenty of space.

Try reconnecting after restarting your router after a couple minutes - server was also down for me for the past few days, but I'm able to reconnect after restarting.
UPDATE: And we are BACK! More and more people seem able to connect, but some are still locked out. A little souvenir from our trip ingame:

Server hopefully is back to normal if you run into connectivity issues please report it.

Since the server is back to normal taxes will be brought back again, meaning March the 1st you will have new taxes to pay. Topic locked.
Guess not.. Sauron has been contacted for a permanent fix.

We have received several atack reports over the past weeks. This means that either somone still finds it worth to attack the server, or there is a different issue.
We will monitor the situation and see how to solve this.
The VM administrators should take following actions:
- After report of bad connectivity restart server and if continued the VM
- Ensure only one single instance is running, as several servers on the same port will certainly cause problems.
- Check logs for any reason of attack.

Should take? Should?
The VM was restarted before it was even suggested by you because that is quite simply one of the first things you try if things that worked before suddenly do not.
The servers run on different ports, have been for years.
Logs were checked and they do not indicate anything and it is only affecting certain routes, not all of them because some people have full connectivity at all times whilst others cannot connect at all.
We've done what we can and once we could not find a solution, you were emailed. Do not come to forums and imply that we did not do even the basic troubleshooting.

Does that mean that taxes system is back or no?

Not yet, that will be announced when everything is back to normal.
