Hello,
I am custom building a Desktop, and I wanted to have your opinion on these specifications:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 / 2.66GHZ / 4MB Cache
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Motherboard
Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200RPM/16MB
Corsair DDR2 2GB PC 5300/677
Cooler Master RC-690 Black Tower Case
Asus EN8800GT - HTDP-612 GF8800GT 512MB
Samsung 22 inch Flatscreen Monitor
All comments are welcome, and for the price I am paying for it, I am quite satisfied.
Regards,
Lionz

pretty good ye. 22 inch wide screen WOW man nice :D

Seems to be a strong computer;
You have the Duo Core 2.66 GHz, thats pretty strong.
You have a 320 GB harddisk and WITH 7200 rounds per minute (thats important, 5400 is too slow)
I haven't tried a graphic card like that, but with 512 MB it should be good enough.
22 inch flatscreen is nice too, just remember to keep a small distance or you will mess up your eyes.
Motherboard seems nice too, since it can handle these properties.
All in all I would say its a pretty nice computer, and I think it would run most games smooth.

Its great Lionz,i love it.

Aaah you making a new PC for me Lionz, i knew you loved me! :D
-

-
Lionz My good man
i dont like any thing... unless its
AMD
GigaByte
Cosiar
Seagate/Weastern Digital
Nvidia
U might wanna change a few things... like the graph Card...
i got a 1Gb 8800 here in my Draw. it wont run with my Board
-
my rl friend got a very expansive video card with 3.0 GHZ and the others things I dunno
-
Im proud of the computer, and it is only going to put me out of pocket $1500.

Lionz

Things that are bolded I will comment on. First of all Intel, Personally Im a AMD man myself but depending on what you want to do with your computer its youyr choice. 2ndly the Motherboard Try going for a S4 motherboard with SLI capability if at all possible :P. That computer has pretty much the same specs as mine (Except my motherboard is slightly better :P) So Im sure it will run perfectly fine as long as you dont drift into Vista lol.

This is great PC but I don't like only 2 things. It would be nice like Shifter said motherboard with SLI capability and little bit strong RAM DDR2 2GB 800MHz.Anyway fine PC :)
-
what are you paying for the cpu ? Because 4 cores are fast dropping in price a friend of mine bought a 4 core for €250 a few months back
-
Very nice Lionz, I would configure it about the same :)
The only things I could think of changing is a better CPU and maybe an Asus motherboard, but that would be more expensive.
-
an ANUS motherboard you mean ?
-
ugh.. dont buy an 8 series card. this topic is in the wrong section too.

RAM is a bit slow.. now that DDR3 is comming out. i would uy PC26400 RAM if your going to use DDR2 (I use PC26400)
HDD is average with the RPM, good capacity :)
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L, is not for gaming. (No SLI)
(little hint, 9800 graphic card is beign released this month, 9600 already has. 9600 is rated 90% faster then the 8600. there should be atleast 50% incrase in performance 8800 vs. 9800.)
and whats the model of the monitor?
-
DDR3 has been out for more than a year ..if you can afford it.. and you dont need SLI for gaming its an extra not a need , I think you are forgetting we dont all have the money for 2 cards in SLI and by no means do you need that for normal gaming

but prices are finally falling =] and even not SLI.. the PCI bus speeds are faster and optimized for graphic cards on nForce motherboards

Videocard memory only determines how much filters (for example Anti-Aliasing [AA] reduce performance) and resolution reduce performance.
You can have a 8800 GT 256MB running at 1024x768 playing Crysis at 50 FPS. and a 8800 GT 512MB running at 1024x768 and will also play at 50 FPS
