I personally like this one
 Cheap Laptop (http://misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=297966&Tab=2&NoMapp=0)
Its under 500 and its very nice and has very good features like Ram and Processer.
Good Gaming one.

If you want a good gaming laptop, you need a good graphics card in your laptop. Most laptops with a good graphics card have also a good CPU, enough RAM etc. I don't know the prices in GB, but if it's possible you can buy a laptop with at least a nVidia Geforce Go 8600M GT graphics card.

first one is a bit overpriced but OK for casual gaming. second one is over priced, but fair in hardware

I have no idea in the way of laptops...I am more of a desktop guy but I hear Alienware is a good gaming computer company and I believe they manufacture laptops. But then again I don't know much about graphics cards. And I have no idea about the price of the alienware laptops.

Cheap laptop= Not a gaming laptop...

It just doesn't happen.

You should just get a desktop for the same money that would completely smoke the laptop...AND you could upgrade it as time goes by.

I have almost the same thing, just a smaller screen.

It's enough for GTA:SA and other games.. It won't be enough if you play the newest games that require a great graphic card.

Actually, changing a dedicated card for a laptop is hard work, and not really possible for an integrated card... seeing as it's built into the motherboard.

1/100 laptop companies offer graphic card changing/upgrades.. and they arent cheap (only if its a dedicated card as he said)

Personally, i would never buy a $500-$800 Laptop. I am fan of Sonny VAIO serries (they are great) and well hopefully when i'll start working i'll get one but definitely not a cheap one. (I don't like cheap stuff they always have something odd on them(as regards PCs lol))

I know this wasn't the question...
But a good, cheap laptop for student (i.e. wordprocessing) is the "Eee PC" from asus.

i own a mac , i tried it - it worked really smooth but it had bad colorings. it is a working computer with good ram not so much with graphics. Although it does cost 2000 i say it was worth it , its a nice computer overall.
