Today the server crashed like 3 times already, and it goes offline and like after 10 minutes its back up again. Does anybody know how this happens? I've heard it were some hackers, but how the hell would hackers make the server go offline?
Oh, and this topic is also to talk at, when you're bored when the server is offline. :D

I'm taking a guess that the server is being attack by DDos or something, it seems all official servers are being attacked. :/

It was more painful for me as I had to co-ordinate a large scale RP event such as Rage Inc Fight Club [RI:FC] and just as we were about to begin, there was a large scale crash. I would like to take this opportunity to thanks the admins and ARPD who were overseeing RI:FC. :bow:

That sucks... why would they do that? And what if they keep doing this for like the whole day or even a week... or even a month... or even more. Then we can't play normally anymore. :eek: :rofl:

We are currently receiving mass DDoS Attacks.
Gandalf, Aragorn and Sauron are currently trying to fix the problem.
We will try and ban these people but they sometimes they connect with over a thousand pcs.
This causes big problems.
Im sorry for any inconvience this has caused.

it going to take awhile to track down all computers involved yet they will get banned from samp and / or get their internet provier to shut down their internet and get a fine. These attacks are illegal and are punishable by law so obviously in some time all of them will get down
also as for ip blocking - these computers and attacks may have 1000 sub attacker computers. Meaning theres going to be alot of trouble going on. There is one main attack - controls 6 computers - 6 computers control 1000 sub computers and not knowing about it , it could even be you. all come on server and mass rape the internet and transver , complety flood samp and make it crash

I still don't understand why people would want to do this, I've seen DDoS attacks before for actual reasons, but why for SA:MP servers...
For example, I understand why Anonymous DDoS'd the Scientology websites...but a multiplayer mod for a game...?
Ooooo, maybe it is Rockstars (as in the games dev company) trying to stop people using SA:MP :wow:

Also i doubt its rockstar as these attacks are illegal and they could be sued.
this is just script kiddies. Testnig hacks and feeding of the sadness of others. i know how it gets for them haha, but they just do it to piss us off its nothing personnaly. its like having a drunk buddy as a dorm partner , he likes to bother you for his satisfaction. Sadistic jerks

the samp website has released the info on who the attackers are
Its , 1337_script , A banana , and 5 white guys
all will be banned , the banana is making a ban appeal though

Also that was other kind of attack not a straight ddos attack on server...

AGAIN! 5th time today that the server gets hacked/crashed. Really sucks, i was in RI:FC but everytime it gets interrupted by server crash.

No, I could easily do it, and people with no hacking knowledge can do it with some software...but I am saying that is mainly the reason why people do stupid things where they believe they can't get caught:
