Title: PC Troubleshooting: Playing with Avast Virus Protection
Post by: 9r2e5i3k on April 08, 2008, 06:39:17 pm
If you want to play MTA 0.5 with avast! 4.8 installed, you must add the MTAClient.exe file to the Ignore list.
  1. Right click on the (A) icon on the systray (next to the clock). Choose Access Protection Control (the first from the top)
  2. Click on More Details >>, then on Standard protection
  3. Click on Customize (Next to the slider)
  4. Go to the Advanced tab (the last one)
  5. Add *\MTAClient.exe to the list.
  6. OK, then OK.
  7. Launch MTA 0.5

Note: the options were re-translated, so they might be called something else in the english version.

1. Do you have avast! or some other Anti-Virus installed?

2. Try adding the full path ("C:\Program Files\Multi Theft Auto\MTAClient.exe"). The " " signs should be used since the path contains spaces.

Why don't you go to where you download it, turn off the virus program then download, because Trojan Vundo (I think that's what it's called) is just a modifier. Norton killed the MTA installation but i turned off auto protect, then installed it. After that turned it back on and it let's me play MTA

It is something about the All Seeing Eye(Yahoo). I think it stopped showing MTA:VC servers. If you want to see servers look at Game-Monitor website.
