Ok i dont know if this is posted any where else on the net BUT
i Figued a plan to get Most games to run on Vista Properly...
ATM this works on
COD2SP
COD2MP
GTA:SA
GTA:VC
MTA:VC
Infernal
Overlord
Rollercoaster tycoon
WWF RAW
NFS U2
NFS MW
ok After installation... Right click on the .EXE file of the Game/Program
then go Properties
Then go to Combatability
Click the Box to Select the compatability drop down
it should already have WIN XP HOME SP2 Selected If Not Select it, then press Apply
(note: Some Games Might need a patch to run on XP)
This Works for most Game not all
If it comes up with SOme error with Dx or something, update to the Newest version of Direct X which is 9.0C at this point.. (its the one i needed for Infernal and Overlord)

Actually the backwards compatibility was the cause of games screwing up on my Vista.
So here are some REAL tips.
1. Do not install games in the default C:\Program Files\* folder, as Vista is protecting this folder from writing, which can cause games to freeze.
2. When the game is overwriting files to start (SA:MP, MTA:VC, MTA:SA) let it run with Administrator rights (ask your parents if needed).
3. When after installation there is a prompt to reinstall with more rights, DO IT, even if the initial installation seemed to be ok.
The games of Watti all run on my Vista from standard installation, without having to set any options.

I use vista and I've never had any problems... I know some of you may find that hard to believe, but it's true. :/
Maybe I'm just lucky.
The whole "change compatibility mode" thing just improves the performance for me.

I never had problems on my laptop and that's vista too

Vista is ok for me, I haven't had any real problems with it.
However, there is one slight problem. CamHack doesn't work with Vista, does anybody have an idea how to fix it?

Most cases the backcompatibility works allright at least for the Windows Vista Ultimate (x64) users/dont know about the other versions.. So àthink you shouldnt exclude it as an option to solve the problem.
If the game crashes for example SA-MP when you try to spawn ingame and your using vista this might be the problem. go in to compatibility options and change to Windows 98 / Windows ME and the game should work. (I had the same problem, until i realized it) Now its working like a charm. For other games i dont know I havent experienced any troubles with any other games yet
Cheers! Good luck for those who are trying to get the game to work.
