Hello,
I’ve been playing on Argonath for quite a while now and have found it to be interesting yet thrilling.
However I have been suffering from acute eye pains in relations to the graphical content in the game.
I’m experiencing increased discomfort when one particular weather setting is opted for. The administrators of the server seem to associate and prefer the “morning dusk†weather to any other weather setting that SA:MP supports. It almost seems that this weather is default by nature.
I’m not the only one who is experiencing discomfort with this weather setting; other players have reported that this particular weather setting creates the lamp posts to flicker frequently and perhaps contributing straining of the eyes.
I’m not prepared to jeopardise my eyesight over a materialistic game thought I enjoy playing it profoundly :flame: and would like to know whether this particular weather can be tuned to special requirements of players experiencing problems with their eyesight in relations to this weather setting. Perhaps even to eradicate the usage of this particular weather setting. :help:
Please understand that this post is not associated with any particular administrator nor has been submitted to intimidate or victimise anybody specifically. :poke:

I'm lucky enough to not suffer any problems from video games - I can imagine it fustrating and annoying for players that do and would support the discontinued use of the weather effect.

Right click on the desktop > Properties
Go to the Settings tab (the last one) and click on Advanced
Go to the Monitor tab and choose the highest supported refresh frequency.
If you will run on the default 60Hz, you will damage your eyes much more quicker than on 75Hz / 85 Hz. Bigger refresh rate makes the screen "flickering" effect reduced, thus not making your eyes tired of looking at it so fast.
I hope that will help, at least just a little ;)

Random weather and time changes were discarded due to some weather effect giving unpredictable results for a number of players.
If the weather setting discomforts you, please use the /report tool to request a more pleasant setting.
If the setting is used for a RP situation or movie, they should inform you but still resolve the situation as soon as possible.
Admins are allowed to change the weather setting, however have to react if players complain of experiencing trouble as a result of it.

Also, if its too dark.
Press Escape, then unpause - it is just like Gandalf has shined his powers upon you and has give the power of you to see through the darkness of evil!
:ps: Just kidding, don't kill me Gandalf!

weathers are the same ones that in the solo mode no?...

I dont know where you get this from usually its light(midday) and If I am on I try to set the time to the jailtime I have never noticed that other admins or myself choose the dusk/dawn other then when it actually is dusk /dawn .
And yes the lamposts do flicker at a certain time setting (its not a weather setting that does this its the time, in singleplayer at this time the lampposts come on but because we can only set fullhour times they apear like they are when just lighting up hence flashing in a way) but not in a way that you would get eyedamage thats overdoing it ..
And there is one other thing different people want different things so we cant just change time / weather when people start yelling in the main chat like this
/me sets the jailtime as time
Player A NOOOOOO make it light
Player B NNNNNNNOOOO dark dark
you see we cant change it for everyone personally, thats why i try to follow the servertime; no discussion possible that way ..I really would hate to see it being light all the time all day, with no changes in cloud cover etc thats just boring and non RP but we could avoid time 22 (thats where the problems are for you)
ofcourse there are exceptions like if you have an event or something or need to see the house you want in daylight thats No problem atleast thats how I look at it
