Start by creating your topic. It should look nice and my advice is to have the following:
1. Clan description and history
2. Clan members and member ranks
3. Clan properties and assets
4. What do the do ...
Check the other clan topics (don't copy tho) and you may see.
If your clan gains many people and becomes famous, create a website or a free forum. :)

As legend said...tell some info about the clan
If you do not have banner, i suggest you put your clan name in bold and increase size of the clan name - text.
then post some history or description, member list, application form, properties, rules etc...
but make the topic attractive using colours (shud suit the forum theme to look attractive)

First of all you will need a leader who helps you grow the clan
so give more preference to recruit someone with leadership qulities, before you start looking for general members
