Title: Nvidia GeForce problem
Post by: sinamun on July 19, 2008, 03:17:39 pm
here it goes oke.

my ***(watch the language, thank you; Sickness) little brother wants to play runscape.
he wants to play it in hd mode r w.e
but when he does, it gets a grathix card error..
so i checked the guide.

To play RuneScape HD, your computer will need the following system specifications:

    * 1.5 GHz processor or higher
    * 256MB of RAM or more
    * 64MB 3D Graphics card, such as Nvidia(R) GeForce(TM) 3 or above
    * Sun Java 1.4 or higher

i have all of those,
just not the grathix card.
i downloaded the grathix card for him, and it worked, he was playing for a few hours, then he went down, so i came to play sa,
but it didnt load :@
how can i play sa without deleting nvidia drivers?

Here is your problem. To run GTA:SA flawlessly you need atleast 128mb. My opinon My video is 512MB Geforce with HDMI output.

It will still run on 64MB. His problem is not it's running badly, his problem is it's not running at all.

Did you try updating Windows? Maybe that might fix it.

reinstall the drivers, to uninstall (you must uninstall and not just reinstall) goto Add or Remvoe Programs, look for nVidia Drivers and uninstall the Display Driver only. once you uninstalled goto nvidia.com, Drivers section and search for your video card (if your nto sure what you have ue the auto detection) if you still have problems, tell me what happens

Uninstall current drivers, get these (http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_175.19_whql.html). If it still doesn't work, it could help if you'd shed some light on the error/whatever SA complains.

I suppose you have Windows Vista 32-bit, so I will base my instructions on that.

1. Download the latest nVidia Display Drivers for Vista 32-bit (http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winvista_x86_175.19_whql_uk.html (http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winvista_x86_175.19_whql_uk.html)), but do not install them yet
2. Uninstall your current nVidia Display Drivers through Windows Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs
3. Restart your computer (after the restart the resolution might be messed up, but that is just temporary)
4. Install the latest nVidia drivers, which you downloaded earlier
5. Restart your computer again

Now you should have the latest drivers installed for your graphic card. If you have Vista 64-bit, let me know and I'll give you another link for the driver download. Hope this helps.

:ps: Is your computer a laptop or does it have an integrated graphic card? If so, you might be able to change the graphic card's memory size in the BIOS setup.

Kaltsu, and DougR, you guys are repeating waht ive already said. (reinstall drivers). Please refrain from triple posting :) if doing so dosent work then your could have a physiclly damaged chip..

So it works with other games yet magically doesn't work with SA?

Why doesn't GTA launch? Do you get an error? Does it not just start? We need to know before we can help you.
