I ordered a computer and I'll get it within 2-3 weeks (they make it, and they need to order something)
Motherboard that supports SLI
8 gb RAM
2.4 ghz quad core
msi 9800gtx 512mb 2xdvi/hdmi
500gb hardrive with 32mb buffer
windows vista 64 bit - so the 8gb will work :)
it was only 1150 euros... when the video card is half price I get another one :)
-
whats the point in 8GB RAM?
Only for the x64 Vista?
What you're planning to do?
-
8 GB ram cause its cheap and then it will be full...
windows 64 bit because it supports ram over the 4GB
play games on high quality of course! ;)
-
Whats the point of the topic.......showing-how cool you are?.................zzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZzzzzz zzzzzzzzzz
-
I don't actually find a point of this topic either, to brag or what?
-
Well... I just wanted to tell everyone here what im getting... not to brag or something...
-

This is going to be sooooo fucked up for your gaming.
Very less games suport the 64 bit version of vista...

luckily 64bits vista is backward compatible and can run 32bit games. if you dont trust me ask Clooak, he got it .
-
Get windows XP ;) Then you will be using your big amount of 8 GB RAM
-
What a waste of money, buy something cool like a car or a motorcycle not something boring that will be out-dated in about a year like a computer... Don't throw your money away man.

or a bike lol
Yihka you wasted loads of money.
If you want a 1337 gaming computer I recomend this:
Intel Dual Core
2 GB or 4 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
Motherboard... thats ur choose...
WINDOWS XP Pro SP3...
And it's... well NOW ITS CHEAP :P Before it wasnt but now its cheap...
It's outdated but its enough to play a game like Call of Duty 4 or Crysis :S or HL2 EP2 or Spore Creature Creator or something...
It supports a Dreamcast emulator also :\
-
leave him alone:P i think he just wants opinions on his computer. seems good, and people who are saying don't get a pc and save your money....come on....we all want a good pc, and don't use the excuse "it will get out dated" so does EVERYTHING get out dated. even I'm out dated.
-
Either way Vista sucks.
-
or a bike lol
Good lad. :hurray:

I'm on x64. I have no problems with gaming at all. Unless I want to play Rodent's Revenge or SkiFree from Microsoft Entertainment Pack 95...

Yeah if you play these new games like Crysis or World in Conflict you would have less problems.
But go try some games from 2004 - 2007.
Sometimes when i check if some game works on vista i see people writing there problems about Vista.
Most of the time its the 64bit version of it.
But it aint that bad anymore then it was.
-
okay first...........
vista does NOT suck... especially after SP1... more stuff will come for vista and most bugs fixed...
Only games that are poorly made in these 8 years have the most problems with vista. (flyff, rappelz and domo online seem to give problems and the same guys made them) but sometimes options are not set good with vista, so that it cannot work properly
It will get outdated yes, but it will take 4 years (and more) with this computer, maybe im even going to put best quad core in it when its around 100 euros.
Why I dont but a motorcycle... Well I am 16... Of course I can buy a scooter (that thing under a motorcycle) but I dont want it, its stupid.
I didnt expect so many replies
-
but gotta agree with r.kill wasting so much money on pc :trust: a bit pointless...
better get a car, bike, moto they wontr be booring =D
-
I get it from parents by the way...
so im not really spending anything... I just put the computer together :D

Really? I haven't had a problem with any game from "2004-2007", or even older ones. x64 Vista has pretty much full backwards compatibility with 32-bit executables. There is no problem at all. Halo 1 runs fine on Vista x64 (although it thinks that I have 0MB of RAM, but still starts up and plays fine). Even Unreal Tournament 99 runs perfect. Deus Ex too. Could you please name games that don't work? (aside from 16-bit executables (x64 Windows does not have support for them), obviously).

Lord of the Rings Battle for middle earth 1 and 2
Star wars knights of the old republic 1 and 2
Battlefield 2 crashes in the loading screen, but you can fix that.
Vista is a nice problem, i use it myself also, but for some games you gotta sit 6 hours behind you PC to get them work.
-
Well, I'm jealous but only because of my pc getting fixed :D :D :D :D :D :D

You do know that those are all fixable and the problems apply to 32-bit Vista too? I asked for games that have problems with Vista x64, not Vista in general.
But enough with this, your argument of "Vista x64 != good game compatibility" has already been disproven.
