Ok, heres the deal when I have played SA for a while and then quit. I cant start the game again if I dont reboot.
I need to crash ingame to relog or reboot. The problem is I cant shut down the process. I tried many other programs to shut down the gta_sa.exe process without success. I have tried to reinstall , ive tried the most of the things actually.
So now im asking you guys , what is the damn problem?
-
I think the problem is the GTASA.EXE are you using a Disc or a Crack? If Disc Private message I will help you on MSN.
-
Try right clicking the process and clicking "Kill Process Tree" (probably won't help, but something could be hanging onto GTASA disallowing it from being closed.)
-
I had this before, my solution was the make a batch file which opens when you do a certain key combination such as CTRL+ALT+Q and here is the code you need to put into the batch file:
taskkill /f /fi "imagename eq gta-vc.exe"
It will work the same as doing end proccess in task manager, only it does it automatically so the fact that the screen is frozen will not be a problem.
When I didn't have that batch file, I did this:
Press WINDOWSBUTTON+R
Type cmd
Press ENTER
Type taskkill /f /fi "imagename eq gta-vc.exe"
Press ENTER
The entire time, the screen remained frozen while I pressed the according keys, but after finished (assuming you typed everything exactly without a single typo), it exits the crashed VC and no more frozen screen.
If you didn't know, to make a batch file open notepad, type the code, then save it as filename.bat and for the key combination, you can make a shortcut to the file, then in the shortcut properties there is an option here you can choose it to run when you do a certain key combination. However, from previous experience, the hotkey will only work if you place the shortcut on the desktop or in certain other locations which I do not remember.
This may work, just change gta-vc.exe to gta_sa.exe.

Well , process tree didnt work.
And Ghosts idea didnt work either. It says "Succesfully shutdown gta_sa.exe process blabla" But its still there,
Well I have no idea whats the problem is guess I have to keep rebooting ;).
-
Download a new or a cracked Exe file and replace your old one.
-
What if you use a disc? have the same problem except gta_sa.exe has stopped running and it wont let me start the game again if i minimize (sometimes) and sometimes when I crash without rebooting :poke:
-
Im not using a disc , and actually I think I havent try to change .exe file , could someone upload one that you know 100% works.
And Vince as I was saying if I get error message that will say I crash then I dont need to relog. Because then the whole .exe file crash. So I guess if it doesnt work to change exe file I have to find a program that crashes files ^^
-
Hmm yeah its odd because ill crash and it will become with all the large icons and larger resolution and i can log back into SAMP but sometimes it will go back to normal resolution (like it is literally atm) and wont let me log on. now i have to reboot / re log windows (re log only if i lucky!!)

Thanks , I found it but didnt help. Still same problem , I guess its a hardware problem issue. :wow:
-
Does anyone have a clue to solve this problem WITHOUT buying anything? :devroll:
-
Well i got my problem fixed by downgrading back to R2 from SAMP R3. Thats with the bought disk but if you use R3 give it a try, worked for me ;)
:ps: ITS FINALLY FIXED :hurray:
-
So you are playing on R2 now? Hmm I had same problem on R2 too..
-
I have now discovered this is NOT a SA:MP issue. It also happends in single player...
If I quit game I cant start it again. If I crash I can start it again.
Summary: I need crash or reboot to get back ingame.
-
Sorry for double post ... but this anyone have a solution ?
-
I have the same problem, havent found a solution yet.
