Title: Port Forwarding Trouble
Post by: schfifty on August 09, 2008, 11:20:36 pm
Here is my setup:

Internet company ------ DSL Modem -----Linksys WRT54GL Router ----- My Computer wired to router
                                                                    |
                                                                    |--- upstairs room 1 wireless
                                                                    |--- upstairs room 2 wireless
                                                                    .
Alright, so when I try to forward ports on my Linksys, I go through all the right steps. However, it always appears that they are not forwarded. Do i have to always forward ports with my DSL modem? Some help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

windows firewall, alhoguh disabled it still blocks certain unknown ports.
do this (In Category view)

Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > Windows Firewall > Advanced Tab

Uncheck all things you need unblocked. and try again

If that dosent work, goto the Ports panel, and add ### Port in TCP and UDP
