Title: Some Problems I'm getting
Post by: Trobby888 on August 22, 2008, 03:20:45 pm
For some particular reason, google search won't load up. It just keeps going "WAITING" and keeps saying that for like 5 minutes. Then after that, it says "this page cannot be displayed". I tried loading other websites, that proved it wasn't that. At first I thought it was my firewall doing the stupid blocking. I closed trend micro and at first it did start loading, but after a while, closing trend micro had no affect anymore, because my google  starts to fail again with the same problem. I also closed windows firewall (But that doesn't seem to be the problem because it's giving me the same results whether I close or open it) How to fix this??

Also, videos made into the posts on this forum won't run normally. I press the "play", and even tried the "Press link to actual youtube version of this video" button, and nothing happens. I try again and again and then reload the site, yet I still get this problem. Why won't the videos run normally?

Maybe its case of your firewall. Try to uninstall it and check will it work..

-Why it doesnt allow you to watch videos?
Maybe because you didnt allow some program (such as macromedia player, or flash player) or just another thing to connect to the network - by your firewall, and its blocking even after switching program off.

Uninstall it and check will it work.

How can the firewalls block anything if they are turned off? And I can't uninstall windows firewall, it's was built as part of the OS.

Do you get this on Internet Explorer too or only Firefox?

I know but windows firewall can be turned on, it not causes your problem.
Try uninstalling your firewall program, and tell us is it working

it cant be a firewall... could be many things, the following reasons sound a bit stupid, but this problem also is very uncommon =]

- you reached your ISP KB limit for the month (rare)
- your internet browser (Firefox, Opera, IE, AOL) need to be reinstalled
- you have a virus
- Google service is unavailable to your area for the moment =]

It mightn't be the problem with the ISP. My brother's been here for 3 days holiday in Sydney, and he sits on his own computer. He always uses the net, and I haven't seem him complain about the internet (Well he did complain about the internet, where I turned off the modem before I went to bed, when he left some things to download    ) . But I wouldn't imagine my brother going on the internet 24/7 and not have to view any videos or use google.

I just noticed that like every now and then, random stupid ad- websites load up by themselves on my screen.

Just uninstalled my other firewall, but I still can't access google nor watch any videos.

Wish my desktop computer was working properly. It's got problems with the hard drive, which keeps making clicking noises that makes the computer crash. My desktop computer runs on XP (hell lot better than vista on the laptop that I'm using now) and it never got this problem of google not loading up before.
