Title: Blurry Screen Problem.
Post by: Fatboy_Rob on August 27, 2008, 02:18:21 pm
ohaider.
Well, the last few days, I've been straining my eyes more and more on my screen, thought I never knew why...
And today I asked my mom to come and look at the screen, she said it's blurry also.
So I know it's not me, it's either:
A) My Graphics Card.
B) My Monitor.

I cannot test to see if it's infact my Monitor, due to me having only one Monitor in the house that I can use.
My Roommate has one, but I don't want to hear his bitching about me breaking something of his, so yeah.
What do you all think it is?
GPU: EVGA GeForce 8800GT 512MB.

Monitor: Samsung Syncmaster 793MB.

It maybe your monitor. You have to remeber those graphics cards are meant for DVI not vga. Yes converts work but they do have there downsides. Consider getting an new monitor ;)

Agreed, I'd go with purchasing a new Monitor.

I also vote for the monitor being the cause.
When monitors get older the chips inside can lose some of their power, causing the colours to be slightly out of sync.
This happens with any kind of monitor. I have noticed both LCD and 'tube' monitors to go blurry when old. Well actually I never noticed it but some other people did.  :D

I had CRT screen not to long ago.. But i agree , they really Lose alot of quality over age... The brightness, well it was so F^cked that you better talk about his Darkness value. I'm kind off colorblind soo i dont know if there were any colors changed, But i clearly now it caused me alot of troubles when talking about graphics.. The only thing that is good, is the fact that CRT react faster than LCD (well maybe 0.00001 but thats faster :P )

And Haldir... I think its not difference between VGA and DVI .. but between CRT and LCD cuz i have a 22" on VGA , not blurry at all (Praise god for that  )

in terms of blurryness thers zero difference between DVi and VGA... in terms of detail DVI of course is better.

it could be a bad VGA cord..

or try clicking Restore Settings on the nVidia Control Panel at the top right area (kind of hard to see) under the Desktop color settings, see what happens

My monitor has hit its Zenith, now it's time for the sun to fall.
Will you all bow your heads in a moment of silence, for my beautiful monitor that is now leaving this earth.
Samsung Syncmaster 793MB - X/XX/06 - 7/28/08. :pop:

Lol, anyways, now it's getting VERY bad... the blurryness, and now the brightness is starting to go in and out every so often.
Oh well :D

And Sickness, it didn't work.

Well at least my CRT lasted for 8 years

Well make sure if your VGA Cable (the one that you put in your videocard)  is connected very well, it could be that the cable had his time, But i'f its in correctly,  I'm quite sure its your monitor then..

(( Btw Syncmasters for the win :P ))
