Well I would like to know about other countries epos heroes and mythology heroes as well and how you see them. I start.
Estonian epos hero is Kalevipoeg(the son of Kalev). And I think he isn't a good person at all. By today's standards I bet in USA he would get the death row. For what? Ok let's start from the beginning. He wen't to Finland to seek a blacksmith who would make him a sword. When he reached to the Finland's coast he rested a bit. Meanwhile a virgin started to sing(like they do in eposes). Kalevipoeg heard her and approached. the Virgin thought that Kalevipoeg was his future husband and so gave herself to him. So basically Kalevipoeg took advantage of a naive woman.(read: rape)
Then Kalevipoeg went to search the blacksmith again, he found the blacksmith and got his sword but before going back to Estonia he went to Finnish bar and got drunk. And like usually drunk people get violent. The blacksmith's son was the guy who the virgin thought Kalevipoeg was. So they started the fight and Kalevipoeg killed him. Blacksmith put the curse on Kalevipoeg.
Back to Estonia, Kalevipoeg thought that he needs to build some towns but there was not enough lumber around, so he wen't trough the Lake of Peipsi and stole it from Russia.
Yeah so I would put him on a death row. Also Kalevipoeg was stupid.
Back to Estonia little demons attacked him. And he tried to kill them with the lumber he stole from Russia. Put he didn't hit the demons with the edge of the lumber but when it was level, until a hedgehog had to give him an advice, how to use lumber as an weapon.
Also, when he lost his sword he said to the sword: cut off the leg of the person who has carried you before" and so the sword cut off Kalevipoeg's legs.

Ok? I dont think Death Row, hmm Murder and Rape? Maybe 15-25 years IMO
