I'm having a serious problem..
My computer rebooted by itself 3 TIMES while playing San Andreas. I start up San Andreas, 5 minutes later computer reboots. This is really pissing me off.
I play Vice City for HOURS without computer rebooting on me.
Some people said it's probably overheating. my Hard-Drive was at 35 degree Celsius when the computer rebooted.
Some people on the internet said the ATI Catalyst are at fault, saying to roll back to version 4.9 or something. Problem is, I use Omega Drivers and it's the only way for me to enjoy gaming. I can see everything fine: peds load correctly, buildings, textures are all fine.
Some people on the internet said that you gotta install Audio drivers for the computer to stop rebooting while playing San Andreas. On System Requirements, it says that I have no driver versions for sound. I'm not sure why's that, as I can hear movies, music, and games perfectly fine.
I posted about this on www.Cause4alarm.net and they're stumped also. They say Reformat. I'm not reformatting unless I cannot get San Andreas to work.

do you auto reboot at ALL when playing VC or any other game? do you auto reboot while at the desktop playing no game?
if no to both questions, its deffinatley somthign wrong with SA, try reinstalling it
if yes to both, its probobly driver problems (dont ever downgrade) reinstall your drivers from here
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
reinstallign drivers isnt as easy as a download. to proporly uninstall any driver, uninstall it first from Add/Remove programs, restart your computer (do not skip this step) and then run the file you downloaded for the new drivers
(its not overheating)

Yeah, It autobooted while playing Vice City, I'd probably say 1-2 times a week.
So, I'm limited to the graphic card drivers? I use Radeon X1300/X1550 Series (Omega 3.8.442) (ATI Radeon Graphics Processor (0x71A3)) (PCI)

assuming you have XP -

That was strange...I reinstalled San Andreas and played it for more than a hour without any reboots.
The Omega Drivers give me more FPS than the Catalyst drivers. I'll let you know if it rebooted again.

I gave up.
I'm reformatting sometimes this weekend or the following week.

I have had an problem with SA rebooting sometimes too, and it was my sound.
Try turning off sound completely, and play then!
(In-game sounds and main speaker sound!)
You can try...
