Title: Weight Lifting tips? Anyone?
Post by: Gillie_Da_Kid on September 19, 2008, 02:42:17 am
I need some tips and tricks on growing muscles. I can carry about 70 pounds.

There aren't any tricks, it takes time. Just start off with light weights and move on to heavier ones, and watch your diet. Start going to a weight room at your school if there is one, or a gym.

Use your mother in law, they're always overweighted so good to lift.

let's see. I can pretty much guess why you wanna lift weights. "da kid"

just don't over do it anyways, i used to do push ups and weight lifting, now every time i do one push up my elbow clicks and aches. as i was doing 300 a day then loads of weights....just over worked.

Which exactly tips you wanted? Like which healthy medicine with protein or what?
And whats a reason of "growing muscles"? Is it for professional sport or just for good looking in a life?

I can give you tip ... since I have lots of 'goodlooking friends' ;)
Those tips are about how to gain weight and then turn it to muscles ... without taking any chemistry.

First thing you have to do - do not eat one or two days (depends on how much you can take...), only try to eat some fruits or something, the idea is to stay hungry. After that, on the fifth day, go to your place at dinner time and eat a chicken soup first to make your intestines wider (since they are very shrunked) and wait 10 minutes.
Next thing you do - eat ... eat as much as you can ... eat eat eat until you can't breathe anymore.
Go - puke it all. Then go and eat as much as you can again, this time try not to puke :D
You have it - extra 5-6 kilos for 2 days. (tried this once and from 61 jumped to 64 kilos)

Then you can go to the gym and start working out for 3 months. If you have body fats too much, take L-Carnitine (if you can find in US, but I am sure you can), if not - don't.
After you have gained some body form, you can start taking protein ... When you take protein, you HAVE to visit the gym atleast 1 time a day. Then, for one month, you will become a real machine (That's what I'm gonna do atleast)

Hope it helped :)

Ok, then my suggestion is you start eating and start lifting smaller weights, such as 5-10 kilos.
You might not think something'll happen but it will.

Because if you're 16 and can only carry 30 kilos (about 70 pounds) I'm guessing you're kinda "small", and going on a hard-training like Legend suggested will crush you...

16 and you can only carry 30 kilo's? Ever tried push-ups and stuff..? Makes the muscles get used to the weight a little bit, and to the excercise and then try the stuff that Abraham suggested. I think if you're gonna start lifting 5-10 kilo's immidiatly that your muscles are gonna start protesting and work against you, so like always. Start from the bottem and work your way up ;)

Ehm, are we just talking about arm muscles?

Else get something that weights 10kg lay it on your over stomach and do sit-ups, do like 50 and you cant walk the next day.

Why the hell would you put stuff on your stomach when you do sit-ups? <.<

That sounds dangerous...

Anyway... Carbohydrates before gym, protein afterwards. Burn the carbohydrates whilst working, then when your muscles want to recover, the protein is there for them to build off of.

So, Pasta before gym- Fish afterwards. etc.

Let each muscle group recover for about a week, the aching will more than likely stop before a week, but that doesn't mean the muscles are fully recovered- If you disturb the recovering process you will not receive the full benefits of the workout and you're just making life harder for yourself.

Sort yourself out a routine, fixed around how many days you want to visit the gym.

So if you only want to go to the gym once a week, you can try cramming every muscle workout into one night, but you may not be able to do anything the next day... at all. And I'm sure you can figure it out if you want to visit more often.

Now, when it comes to reps and weights, more weight and less reps is the way to go, I'd say, get the size of your muscles, then alter the fat in your body by what you eat.

Hope I help ;)

Well, I gotta look good for the ladies and have a great body.

That's ok...
But why weight lifting? Thats not the best for man... Or I do not understand what you mean under weight lifting... :)
The best is - coach in gym... Ask him for tips... He will give the best advises especially about protein medicines, that can help to grow it faster and exercises according your own weight/body structure/health...

For girls - thats not just arms muscles... Main is stomach :)... Only coach can give you advise wich parts of bodies you need to work on...

But then, without a chest, you'll look like an oaf, and then, without arms you'll look like... a hotdog?

All is needed...

Let say you weight 40kg and if you are doing a situp you are lifting maybe 20kg of it, if you add 10kg youare lifting 30kg which is better.

Not all is needed... The structure of every person is different, and many people have strong legs or arms naturally...
Every gym has its specialists/instructors... They will tell what exactly needs and do you have a health for that...

Besides, they got machines in the gyms for that stuff.

http://www.workoutz.com/

how i got my six pack :) and im only 13

tip:
eat small portions of food at dinner, and alot of fruit and veggie's
when you wake up in the morning, go for a 10-20 minuit run,
this will calm your body nerves and relax you,
do not eat befor running!!
your body will look for energy, when it comes to an empty stomach. it will use your fat and turn it into muscle
then when u get home, do 50 propper situps, 50 pressups, Eg.. Eg..
do this for a month, and you will be a muscle man.

When me and my mates go gym sometimes they try and lift huge weights and they struggle but still do it because they think the heavier the weight, the more muscle gain... This is far from the truth. Start off with very small weights but do reps for a long time and then the next week increase the weight by say 10-20kg. Do what sinamun said and don't eat before training... I drink protein shakes, they seem to work, I just like the taste. I only go gym once a week, I was planning on going 3 times a week but then I asked myself... Why waste my time? I don't care about my muscles and I doubt anyone else does so I eat loads and just keep my body in working order. Apart from that, I'm probably going to have a huge KFC later. :drunk:

I like my woman to have a bit of muscle though, not like a bodybuilder though lol.

I'm naturally like...semi-toned. i don't work out...used to but quit couple months ago, but my bodys metabolism is so high it burns fat at a high rate resulting in less body fat thus showing my muscles more.

uhm. for the "ladies" lol you're truly better of with doing crunches and putting half your body of a sofa or something and hooking your legs onto the sofa and pulling your body up without touching the ground to strengthen your stomach. then 100-200 push ups a day to build upper body and shoulders. if you want to pack a good punch i advise weight lifting and shadow boxing or a punching bag. shadow boxing= speed in punch lifting weights= strength in arm and punching bag naturally makes your punches stronger.

you lil pimp you ;)

Just let me know what you need bigger

PUSHUPS!!!!-For shoulders and pecks. oh and triceps
Dumbells and pullups for biceps,
And when you get big upperarm muscles, finish it off with forearm/wrist muscles.
(Do curlups with dumbells)

Well, when I lift weights I usually go for smaller weights like 20 Pounds, but I do a lot of reps. I cant remember but, I think my coach said it builds lean muscle instead of bulky muscle :P. So yeah..
My advice is Go try to join a sports team, it helps a lot. With all the practices and whatnot, you're bound to be in shape in no time.
