Title: GTA, and other programs, will not start and close themselves.
Post by: MrEcks on September 23, 2008, 12:06:50 am
Ok, so I'm having a problem with my computer where certain programs will not start and will end themselves... I'll try and start GTA and it will show gta_sa.exe in task manager for like a split second, then it will just go away... This is also happening with my Norton, and a simpler program, Damn NFO viewer. Any help with be thanked... or not, depends on Ecks' mood. :P

First of Add me on msn! [email protected]
Second Try restarting your PC or either Setting restore point to a earlier date.
Third:Update PC if possible

May I ask you what Windows do you have (XP,VISTA)

Sounds like a program is blocking these... could be virus or firewall...

I reset it and shut it down alot... and restoring isn't really an option for me at the moment, I'd lose too much stuff I just got.
I know it's not updates, nothing to update.

I run XP Media Center.

Did you try making another account on windows XP? btw I have that windows version! and try to keep all the files on that new fresh account because it's gives you fresh DLLS which will last you instead of those not working. Good Luck Mate!

Check in the task manager on the processes tab.
If you see any process that is odd, use Google to find what it does.
When confirmed as possible virus or spyware, stop it and remove the file.

What do you mean not respond? You mean SA:MP.EXE isn't launching?

try to re install SAMP...happened to me awhile ago and I think it was some dumb stuff. You also should just for giggles run a registry fixer or something.
