Post by: Proxan on October 05, 2008, 09:50:30 pm
Does someone have vista ultimate x64?

I heard it was alot of problems finding drivers , programs that works on x64 OS...

So anyone running it smoothly without any big problems?

I will soon buy a new pc , and to get out most of the power from it I will have to choose Vista...

I have Windows Vista Premium 64 bit.

Drivers is not a problem, just look it up right now to see if your stuff is supported. Old printers and stuff might not work.

But yeah my windows keeps freezing, and I do not know the problem yet. But everything else works fine. I would recommend it! (currently uninstalling a program every freeze)

Working wit Vista Premium for over one year now. As I am not bothered by some extra clicks to confirm that I reall am sure I have clocked that button that askmed if I clicked that program there are no major problems with anything.
Tip: Get used to Vista. Do not try to 'XP' it.

A bit of a bump, but what a hell :)

Well I've been using Vista 64bits for a long time now and it runs okay my drivers and everything was just plug & play (not recomended though to use the Windows Vista shipped / downloaded with Vista, at least not for the chipset and so on) Well as Ghost say if you think the UAC (the popup button that asks you to allow the programs to start) can easily be disabled by just going to ur acount settings and disable the UAC.

Those people who say that Vista sucks have never tried it or that their devices just didn't work because of olderness.

Regards

I am running Vista Ultimate x64.
The only one problem i have so far - is that you have to switch samp off with Ctrl+Alt+delete... Game is quitting normally, but when you press [X] on samp box it shows many new boxes with some errors, but when you do it via Ctrl+Alt+Delete its ok.

Also, not all games are working... About drivers - now you can find drivers to nearly everything for Vista x64.. 1 year ago it was very hard...
For you, in new computer, you will recieve CDs with drivers for Vista 64 :)

If you will need more specialised info, feel free to ask me via MSN :)

Havent tried so many games so far , installed vista yesterday so just steam and gta atm.

There was some problem with drivers , for my internet card, graphic card and sound card. But installed the cds that come with the motherboard that solved it ;)
