Ok, a lot of people have told me that they can't install or run certain games because they are seriously outdated and their operating system is Vista. Someone told me that they bought a game and then found out that it was only compatible with Windows 95 and 98. Other people have told me that certain games don't display correctly on Visa and have searched forums and found nothing...
Examples:
Hogs of War (95 and 98) - fails to play at all
Battlefield 1942(98,XP) - crossheirs do not display, menu colour is messed up
How can you play them on Vista?
VERY SIMPLE solution: when installing the game, right click on the .exe file and click on "properties". Click on the "compatability" tab at the top. Select the operating system you need and some extra settings...
NOTE: If this fails to work, try running the program as the administrator. If it fails after that, I don't think it can be done. Vista is good at backward compatability but sometimes it simply can't handle it...
Hope this helps and sorry if someone already posted this

For MS-DOS and some Win95 games, I recommend DOSBox (http://www.dosbox.com/).
Should work on Vista...

When i had Vista 32 Ultimate i thought it really sux, but now i have 64x im using it, and im happy dunno why..
Now I see no differences between XP and Vista :)
Sometimes i forgot what O/S im using, and i still think its XP ^^
But yeah, i like Vista now.

yeah i got 32 bits, it really sucks,
and i dont see any improved point against Xp,
for me its 0 advantage for Vista, and a couple of disadvantage of Vista,
but nobody seems to know to fix it,
so my game is still screwed, and now i gotta relog 100 times more then normal because of it

Get Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, its Free! Install it on your Vista machine and put Windows XP or 2000 or 98 or EVEN 95 on a Virtual Platform. I have Vista Ultimate x86 (32 Bit) and I use VPC, I have an XP and a 98 for games that don't work with Vista. You would need at least 1.5Gb of RAM (1Gb for Vista Mother OS and 512Mb for XP/98/Whatever.
